Hello from Austin, TX
So, yeah, I made it here okay. I'm lying down on ![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
nickjong's couch right now. I should go to sleep shortly. I will, honest.
Stayed up all night, got the shuttle, it was exactly on time at 4:15am. Picked up some more people, then went to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. The flights were both on these tiny tiny planes. I had a window seat for the SEA->Phoenix flight so I slept for the whole 2.5 hours of it. The Phoenix airport has chairs without armrests, so I stretched out and slept for another hour and a half. Got a personal pan pizza, then got on the flight to Austin. I had an aisle seat so I couldn't sleep. But I read a lot of the Casey Stengel book I'm in the middle of.
I got to Austin and Nick met me at the airport. Yay! We went to Adam and Rehana's place, where we basically spent the rest of the day. Had dinner (a very Texan christmas dinner of... tacos), then hung out talking for hours, then played a game ("scepters of Zapandor"? It's a new German version of Outpost, apparently). It was kinda fun once I started getting the hang of it. Adam won of course, but hey.
Came back here, hung out talking. Nick got me a Christmas present (making me feel bad since I didn't get him anything). I shook it like "It must be pirates!" as a joke. However, it WAS! He got me the DVD of Pirates of the Carribbean. Hehe! What a great present!
Hopefully we'll track down Zach tomorrow. And hopefully it'll get warm.
Also, on a sickness update: I totally let my dayquil addiction lapse for most of tonight, and I've been doing pretty well relatively. I still cough sometimes, but I've been getting my voice back and feeling mostly fine except for the occasional coughing fits.
