Why on earth Seattle isn't making him an offer is beyond me. Oh, right, we're too tied up trying to get five first basemen, so we can turn the entire FIELD into an Abbott and Costello routine.

Didn't he play for the Phillies? I think he was the one to throw the no hitter at the Vet two seasons ago. That was a great game - I was there! Wonderful weather! Horrible traffic.

He did. He's been inconsistent the last year or so, which is why his price tag seems to have dropped quite a bit, but as far as I'm concerned, he's a bargain at 3-4 and still a decent gamble at any price up to around 6-8 for one year. And only 30 years old, too. Bleh.

Hey, actually, do you go anywhere that sells Phillies merchandise, specifically t-shirts? I kinda want a Millwood one, but when I was in town last, I stopped by Modell's and could only find them in like, XXXL, and I just wanted an L or XL... they'd probably be super-cheap now that he won't be on the team anymore, too...

Hmm, the last place I was in where they had shirts was at the stadium. I know there is a sports store in the Plymouth Meeting mall. KoP has a Modells or something too. I'll keep my eyes peeled as I'll be there on Friday most likely.

Any price range? I remember these things were expensive.

No, I don't mean a jersey; those *are* expensive. I mean a t-shirt (the blue ones are cooler but the red ones are okay too) that has, like, "Phillies" on the front, and a big "34" with "Millwood" over it on the back. They would normally be between 12-20 bucks, depending on where you get them. I think I got my Mike Lieberthal t-shirt for $13 at Modell's though.

I can trade you an Ichiro shirt or something :)

Oh, not a jersey. Those are expensive! We looked into getting one for my sister-in-law's 16th birthday (she loves Pat Burrell). We decided it was cheaper and more effective to take her to see Thoroughly Modern Millie instead.

T-shirt. Check. I'll take a look around later this week. Will you be around here at all at the end of the year, or just the other trip you mentioned? Or I can mail it, if I acutally find it.

Nope, I'll be in Austin for the end of the year. My guess is I'll end up in Philly in the late spring at the earliest, if that. Not sure.

and, as Nyk said, yeah, Ichiro is like one of the most famous baseball players in the world, but notably he does play on the Seattle Mariners right now, and Ichiro t-shirts are the most common clothing items worn in Seattle, it seems.

The kind commenters at USSM did post an article saying maybe Seattle will go after Millwood but I don't entirely buy it. Grrr! Millwood Millwood Millwood!
