another great day :)

Today we woke up and Carl and I went to Shadyside and got crepes at the crepe place. Man, I miss Crepe Guy. That place is cool. And yummy crepes.

Went to the Beeler House after that. Got to see [profile] teki for like 5 minutes on his way out. Then Kevin and Carl and Dkitchin and I played a game of Tigris&Euphrates (which I owned everyone at, woo!). Then we played cards for an hour or two, some suicide spades and some Widow. I left and I think Dan stepped in to take my place.

I walked towards campus to meet up with Trey, who I hadn't really gotten to hang out with at Carnival. We went to dinner at Union Grill. Hee. (Craig street looks so WEIRD now! Subway took over Cathy's video store and the old subway is empty and Unimart is now Starbucks and wtfz0rs? Ah well.) Anyway, we hung out and chatted and got dinner.

Then we went to Wightman! Whee! We showed up towards the end of the swing lesson. And then we danced a ton and a ton. Ran into Dave McWherter and danced a song with him. He's really pretty crazy now, and has learned a ton more moves since I last danced with him, but he's also become more difficult to follow. We ran into [profile] bhudson and [profile] kfcrawford at Wightman as well, and I got to dance with Benoit a lot too. I did dance with some random other guys, but most of them were kind of bad dancers, so I just stuck with dancing with my friends after a bit. There was an intermission on swing dancing and they had a bunch of Irish step dancers perform for like 15 minutes. It was sort of like Riverdance, and I think Farren would have enjoyed it (except I know there's no way he'd come out swing dancing, heh). We got them to play a waltz and I got to waltz with Trey and it was AWESOME and I was really really happy. They also played a polka! Hee. I was pretty energized after that, but also got pretty dizzy, I'm not really used to dancing I guess. Still. Considering I didn't even remember to bring shoes and was in my sneakers the whole time it went fairly well.

We decided to leave at 11:15, and ended up that the four of us (Benoit and Trey and Katherine and I) all went back to Benoit's apartment and hung out talking for an hour or two. It was pretty fun.

Came back here, talked to Carl for a bit and took care of my PP junk, now I really really really should go to sleep or something. Sigh. I'm still kind of on west coast time, I guess. It was really fun to dance though. And to hang out with people. Sigh.

Yeah, unimart going away makes me sad; no more sandwich at subway, drink at unimart; now I'd have to pay grossly inflated prices to get crappy drinks. So I go to Veracruz all the way down Forbes and get Jarritos and quesadillas instead.

Crepes are really easy to make though: use a ratio of 5 parts milk to 4 parts white flour, and 2 eggs per cup of flour. Dash of vanilla, ~1 tbl of sugar, a bit of butter (or you just butter the pan every time). Mix. Butter and heat up the pan. Cook.

If you use buckwheat you have to increase the flour slightly.

Also, dancing with friends is so much more fun than running around dancing with all random people all the time, or with people whose name I barely know.

I still feel bad about turning down the one woman and then not getting to dance with her. But I got a dance in with Cathy, and apart from that, there weren't too many other dancers I knew than you and Katherine.

Ah, but then you don't get the amusing lines like, "I remember washing dishes with you at Larry Greenfield's house!" As an introductory line, it kind of messed with my head. Trey made up for it by being a very good lead.

Wait, you actually didn't know Trey? Color me surprised.

Well, the opening line would indicate we sort of knew each other. We each recognized the other's face, but had not talked to each other. It was before you showed up, so I was even more amused when you dragged me across the floor so you could talk with [livejournal.com profile] dr4b. My first thought was, "Oh, there she is ...with that ...same ...guy."
