A one-eyed nine-buttoned flying purple pop'n beater

Today was odd. There was some big meeting at work, and they had a ton of food left over, so I got free dinner at work. This inspired me to stay there for the evening instead of coming home. I think it worked out, since I gunned for the Looterati tuesday evenin' tour on PP, and at the same time got real work done. Maybe working at home really wouldn't be so bad after all. Hard to say...

The weird thing is, I drove home around midnight, and decided to take a detour to play a set of three of DDR at Sunset, and then I get home and I have this odd feeling, like something weird is about to happen. I open my apartment door and THERE IS A BIG BOX and I now have my Desktop Arcade Pop'n'Music controller! Whee! It's big and wooden and purple and a little heavier than I expected, and I'm not quite sure how happy I am with it yet. Since I got home at 1am I figured I shouldn't play too much since it'll be late and wake people up possibly, so I just did a few songs on Pop'n'Music 9 and stopped. I guess maybe I'll host board games at my place sometime after I get back from Pittsburgh, and people (read: Farren) can try out the controller. It's definitely different than the Konami and/or Ransai -- but I'll have to play Daikenkai on it tomorrow and see what I really think.

Against my better judgment I logged in to PP after, just to check things -- but Weaver offered to help me sail stuff, so I took him up on it and brought in my ship from Zeta. We got into three battles, and I outshot the brigands 5/0 in all of them, and I really want to test my battle nav sometime with more than just 2 people. Bleh. Ah well, now it's really damn late and I'm going to read^H^H^H^Hsleep.

I've been feeling really introspective lately, especially when I drive, but I'm not really sure I want to share my recent thought trains with the world yet. I never thought I'd ever enjoy driving as much as I do, but it's really a good time for me to listen to music and sort out my brain a bit. Not that I like commuting to Kirkland, mind you -- I'm still looking forward to a time when I won't -- but I guess foregoing my old bus-reading time for car-thinking-and-singing-at-the-top-of-my-lungs time isn't necessarily the worst thing ever.

Oh! Also! In baseball news, the Mariners sent out the prospective 2005 Season Ticket schedules. I'm not sure which one I'll go for, but damned if I don't see the Phillies every day they're in town. Sadly, seems like the Mariners will NOT be in town for my birthday, though. However, they make up for it by playing Boston AND New York here between May 13-18. Also, I'm probably going to go to the USS Mariner Pizza Feed. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun (assuming I can pretend not to be afraid of huge groups of people I don't know).

I find that driving works in similar ways for me. My commute is short enough, even though I'm actually taking the parkway these days, that I don't really get into the mode but I prefer to have the shorter commute.

I do post but it is true that it would be nice to see you. However, I don't think that scheduling a time in the coming week will be easy.

Ooh, Pop'n'music-y goodness. And here I was thinking you wouldn't see it till December - glad to see I'm wrong. Love to see the thing in action... :)
