last few days, in short

My weekend:
Saturday I went clothes shopping with Megan. We hit seven department stores in two malls. It was definitely a different experience for me since I rarely go clothes shopping AND rarely go to malls. At least we got to take a break and go to the Mariners Team Store at Alderwood. I'd never been to Alderwood before, either. I ended up liking one dress a lot at the Bon at Northgate and another enough at the Penney's in Alderwood to put it on hold. Got home at 8:30pm totally zonked from dealing with people; grabbed a Whole Foods salad and Jamba Juice and just chilled at home and did laundry. I know I could have gone to the party at Foy's late, but I don't even really know Gwen and I was just really peopled-out.

EDIT> I guess I forgot to mention that the reason I went clothes shopping was to pick up a dress to wear to my little brother's wedding, which is in 2.5 weeks or so.

Sunday I slept in and eventually got up and went back to Northgate and bought the first dress I'd liked, after trying it on again and a few more dresses. It's a size too small in theory but it seems to fit perfectly; it's an asian-style dress, black with violet flowers on it, high collar, sleeveless, stripe down the shoulder, I should just take a picture sometime. I also tried on some long-sleeve shirts and sweaters and jeans and stuff. It's really amazing how much I can look like a normal person if I wear normal person clothes.

After that I went to Fremont and met up with Chris (known to the Loots as Sal) for dinner at Blue C Sushi. I guess we only spent half of dinner talking about Puzzle Pirates this time, which is an improvement. After dinner we went downtown (man, Seattle is weird at night on Sundays) to the Loews, near Gameworks, and saw Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, since he heard it was good. I knew nothing about it beforehand so I was a little confused by it, but it was pretty neat anyway... I'm not sure whether I'd say "YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE" but I wouldn't say "ugh avoid it" either. It's just a kinda fun sort of action sort of mystery sort of sci-fi sort of comedy movie all in one. I dropped Chris off at his place after and came home and stayed up too late entering the OCL early bird contests I got to quarterfinals in drinking AND SFing :)

Today I went to work, and went to Pub Quiz after. It was just me and Megan and Josh and Ficus. We did poorly mostly, but we scraped together 24 points out of 40 in the final on pure luck for the most part and finished with a respectable but not winning score. I pulled a ton of early answers out of my butt. The worst one was in the picture round, we had dingbats and one of them was:

GRIMACED
--------
HOLY MOUND

If you figure this one out, I'm sorry, because it's just a BAD pun.

There has, of course, been Puzzle Pirates interspersed in all of this stuff, but I just don't feel like talking about it. I'm really psyched to see Kui this weekend, but I worry about the Luthien blockade a lot. And certain people are being really annoying, so I think I'll just stop talking to them for a while. Yeah.

Oh crap, I need to get plane tickets to go to my brother's wedding. I was really good and remembered to call and reserve a hotel room, at least.

Oh, and Derek Zumsteg is one of the funniest guys ever. If you like baseball humor.

Do you normally look like an abnormal person? I never thought so.

No, she normally looks just fine. But she's a real babe in some of the dresses she tried on. She'll probably knock the socks off her family in her new dress.
