Yesterday in short

Bad day at work. Unable to focus.
D&D afterwards. We came around a corner and got shot by two dark elves. I fireballed their asses. Literally. Also toasted a huge spider that was lurking above the cavern opening waiting to attack as well. That ended the kicking butt part of the session; we ended up in the cavern a bit later, where we couldn't see anything much so I cast Detect Magic and suddenly WHOOMP we were attacked by four ghouls, to which I said "Har, I'm an elf, who cares", until the thing that summoned them appeared, and was a minor demon of some sort (with damage resistance 15/Good). Well, Cory got Cause-Feared and ran off screaming like a little girl, and Josh and Mike got paralyzed, and most of my magic was ineffective (immune to electricity and I couldn't fireball with Josh and Mike's characters paralyzed at the demon's feet. I did do a Shout though which was kinda cool), so I ended up also paralyzed after a few rounds, because I may be immune to ghouls, but not demons. The demon started chowing down on Mike and killed him after 3 rounds, which somehow we calculated to be the amount of time it took Cory to run back to the room and use his wand of Searing Light and kill the thing. But damn did it look like our whole party was toast. Wheeeee.

Went home after that. Did the PP thing. Foraging was good. I may just not forage for a day or two and get back all my hours. Hung out with Cioj, it'd been a while.

I am going to be in the Bay Area from the morning of October 2nd to the evening of October 4th, if anyone cares. I'm probly busy all of that Saturday but still trying to figure out exact plans for the rest of the weekend (besides hanging out with I-Gene and Ryan and Carisa and all).

I'm free for lunch, but since I'll be working, getting back to Berkeley for lunch would be tricky (I might be able to do it, it just takes extra time). Are you interested in either someplace in Oakland's Chinatown, or a pretty good sushi place in Alameda (that is, I really like their vegetarian stuff and it's been said by others that their non-vegetarian sushi is great)? I can tell you how to get to either on public transit if you won't have a car with you.

Ok, let's do the place in Alameda (none of these places are creepy to be in in broad daylight, but I'm just choosing this because I know of it specifically). You should probably just come to my office and then we'll drive there. Take BART to 12th Street Oakland/City Center, then catch the 19 bus at 11th and Broadway -- schedule at http://www.transitinfo.org/frames/external.asp?url=http%3A%2F%2F198%2E94%2E156%2E9%2FAC%2F -- the direction going away from the BART station, not towards it. The bus runs every half an hour (look at the "11th/Bdwy" column on the schedule). The bus will go through a tunnel and then there are two or three stops before the one you want to get off at. There will be a stop with a bunch of FedEx/UPS boxes right next to it, and you want the stop right after, next to the shopping mall that includes Long's Drugs. Then walk across the street -- the address is 1050 Marina Village Parkway -- and go up the stairs to suite 201, go in the door, and I'll be the second closed-off cubicle on the right. On the way back I can drop you off at BART, but it's probably better if you come to my office because there's no good place to stop and wait in a car downtown.

It doesn't really matter what time, since I'll be there anyway, but my office # is 510-864-1657 x381 if you need to reach me. hopefully see you on Monday!
