Weekend so far
Friday I dunno what happened. I went to work and I came home and I played PP. The end.
Today I got up for the Endurance Grudge Match run by my friend Ted. Our flag fielded a pretty big team after all. My wrists still hurt so I mostly was a backup puzzler and watched from the crow's nest.
First round we were up against the Infidels. I don't remember much of it; in one of those first two rounds, and I thought it was that first, Whitefire shot the other ship in the first few movement phases which was a disqualification and we should have been down one ship. I'm not sure what happened, because we got in there and sank their ships and won the round.
Second round we were up against Crimson Tide. I think they did manage to sink one of ours, but we beat them pretty squarely too, due to some great carping on our ship and some great maneuvers by Kuibbles.
Then I drove to Illusionz and I played Pop'n'Music for like 2 hours straight. Well, I also saw Thunderbird and Farren there, but they were all playing ITG with people. One of the ITG people put his card up on PNM while I was playing and he watched me like "Wowwww! You are really good!" As opposed to when I went and played a game of DDR, got 6 greats on BIMP (having not played it in 3-4 months or so) and a guy behind me goes "Wow, you should try harder songs, have you played DDR much before?" and I looked at him like "Uhhh... only for 4 YEARS or so?" and AA'ed Absolute as my third song and got Extra Stage. God, I just kinda dislike playing DDR lately.
Talked to Farren for a while and then drove home in time for the 8pm round. I stopped off at Whole Foods on the way. I think I should regularly start eating meals at supermarkets. I got awesome salad and sushi from Whole Foods today and awesome salad and sandwich from Safeway yesterday and... at least Whole Foods has a Jamba Juice in it!
Anyway, the 8pm round. The finals. Now that was a weird one, we were against Robertdonald. They got the first-shot round penalty for shooting us... and then Whitefire accidentally drove his ship out of the blockade so that counted as a sinking for the other team -- however, when RD almost drove HIS ship out later, Maxdemian came in with a war brig and bumpered them back in. I guess THAT wasn't against the rules. Ugh. Well, anyway, it was irrelevant as we totally sunk their butts. Wooooo.
So we won the whole event! Yaaay!
We went to the Spring Palace afterwards for awards ceremonies. Our flag's getting an apoth and ironmonger on Endurance, for whatever that's worth, and a bunch of people got a bunch of stuff, and I muted a ton of people. Whee.
My gosh, what DID I do for the last few hours? Mostly chatting. Moved some cloth for the tailor. Talked to Solos for a while... and she left for LP. Fought some skellies. Foraging. Talked baseball with Dergon. I NEED to sleep now since D&D is eaaarrrrllyyyy tomorrow, stupid Mike :P Then I'm going to see a movie in the evening. Whee.

On the subject of DDR, every year or so when the new Digipen students eventually find out about IZ there's always a flood of new (usually cocky) DDR players hanging about. :( I've been playing for like 5 years now and I still can't SDG anything. So, nice job. ;)

I'm going to get PNM 7/8/9 (and BH if I can find a copy online), and a Ransai controller, because I pounded the heck out of a Ransai controller at Otakon and it was really awesome.
I just don't care about DDR is all. It's bad though, because I really *could* use the exercise.

I mean, for me, it was a big deal in April that I could beat West Shinjuku Cleaning Theme hyper as an Extra Stage on PNM 11. I'm not even sure how far I've come from that except that I'm comfortable with a wide range of songs in the mid-20's now rather than just a select few... I still don't really play anything on Ex and the highest thing I've beaten is still only a 30.
