dr4b | 4th of July

So yeah, I got here really late last night, and woke up relatively early because people were here for games. So I got all washed up (whew, no more sand all over me) and came out to play.

So first we had 5 of us playing 1872 or 1856 or whatever the train game with Canada as the theme was. I had never played any of the 18xx games before so it was pretty new to me. I did okay though, in the end I placed 3rd... The thing is I started with the LPS line, which meant I completed it quickly but I couldn't really expand, so I spent the entire endgame just collecting money and watching other people get their lines upgraded. Oh well, it was good to try it out and all.

Then Kui showed up near the end of it... so we all sat around debating what game to play next and eventually decided on Time Agents, stopping for dinner first. Dinner was fondue and salad and whatnot and was yummy. When it got dark out we went outside for around 15 mins to watch various fireworks... the problem was we were located such that we could see fireworks at several locations but we weren't REALLY close to any. So it was kinda cool for a bit and then it was cold so we went back inside.

Finished Time Agents, I was second, mostly because I stopped time travel without actually managing to make my VPs highest. It's somewhat irrelevant as if I hadn't stopped time travel Muffy would have done it right after me, so yeah.

Now we're all just kinda sitting here hanging out and talking about random crap like prog rock and angband and stuff.

Also, I am damned fucking sunburned.

And I have very little planned for the next day or two. Hmm.
