Monday - hangin' out in Canada, drivin' back, gettin' pulled over, etc
You know, I got back to town around 1am but of course I had to log in like the idiot I am, so now I'm finally getting around to updating.
Anyway, today was pretty good. I had a disturbing dream which mostly involved things like last night's Karaoke and Joel and Matt singing "DU.. DU HAST... DU HAST MICH! DU HAST MICH!" over and over again, and various rap songs. Probly didn't help when Matt blasted "Forgot About Dre" in the car, either...
...anyway, we got up and went to Metrotown, picking up Joel on the way. Went to get sushi at Taisho, which is the tabehodai kaiten place that costs $11 CDN for lunch. Oh man, I ate too much. Then we went to Playdium, where we ran into Mark, and where Ryan joined us a bit later. I played a set of DDR Extreme with Joel and I got all sick-like and had to go drain my sinuses. But I was fine for the rest of the day. Playdium has the same exact stuff as before... DDR 1st and GF and HiphopMania CM2 on the second floor, and the weirdo EX on the first floor, though the pads and screen are better now.
We went over to CHQ, which has gotten rid of their PPP and Rock Fever, but now they had along the wall: DM9, GF11, Beatmania The Final, DM10, KBM3, DDR EX, DDR Solo 4th+. The funny part was that NONE of the machines had the right marquee except for the DM9, GF11, and KBM3. The Beatmania had CM2 marquee with Final written over it, DM10 was a PF8 marquee, DDREX was a DDR 3rd marquee (woo, DDR 8rd), and DDR 4th+ was a Solo 2000. Wheee. Anyway, I got to play all of those except GF since I don't play GF. DM10 is sweet, it has Sobakasu (the REAL song by JaM) and Shining and Hanabi (by aiko) and some DAI song and whatnot. Wooo playing a set of Shining, Himawari, and Break Down. :) Beatmania Final was fun too, I didn't realize it had all sorts of stuff like Kiss Kiss Kiss and Gamelan De Couple and all these other cool songs.
After a few hours at CHQ we got bored and went back to Playdium, where I used more credits on my card, and we played various stuff, then headed to the food court for dinner. I got A&W again, cause hey, that's my favorite Canadian fast food, yo. Everyone else got Arby's because apparently there aren't many Arbys's in Canada, or something. Then we had to give people rides home and say goodbye and all that stuff.
Matt took me by Superstore to get some Canadian Coke (and assorted other junk food) and then by Tim Horton's so I could get some donuts, and then a 7-11 so I could get a Wonderbar since they didn't have 'em at Superstore somehow. I also got Jolt. Is it me or do we not sell Jolt in America anymore? Anyway. Loaded up with goodies, we went back to Matt's house, where his mom tried to convince me I really should stay another night rather than driving home, but where I was like "But uh you guys have to get up for work and I have no extra clothes and and and..." Though it was like 10pm so the idea of staying wasn't bad... I dunno.
So I hit the road. Not much of a wait at the border. However, after crossing the border I set my cruise control to 75 mph and well... I got pulled over by a cop for the first time in my life, MEEP. The worst was... I didn't understand if I was supposed to pull over or not, for some reason I thought they pull in FRONT of you so I kept going... eventually I figured okay, they had to be chasing me but I didn't know why, so I pulled over. The cop said I was doing 82 in a 70 zone (which I'm damn sure I wasn't), and also that I was changing lanes erratically, AND that I didn't pull right over and all this stuff. But somehow I didn't panic or anything, I just kinda confusedly explained that I'd never been pulled over before in my life and I didn't think I'd done anything wrong so I was really confused. He took my license and checked my owners papers and whatnot, went off for a few minutes, and came back and just gave me a warning (since I suppose, if he looked me up he'd see that honestly I *had* never been pulled over in my entire life). I kept driving... about 10 minutes later it hit me that holy shit, I had been pulled over by a cop, that was really weird. So I stopped at a rest stop for a little while and used the bathroom and just walked around for a few minutes thinking, "whoa, that was weird."
Set my cruise control to 70 in the 70 zones and 60 in the 60 zones and made it back here just fine. Logged into PP, caught up with a few people on things. I'm kinda sad about a few things in-game recently but I'm not gonna talk about it right now. The costume contest is over and now the devs just have to decide on people. I think I have a decent shot of winning, after seeing the other entrants... the only other really disturbing looks-like-their-avatar honestly is Homullus and Thusnelda I think. Wildrose and Burr had decent outfits but I've never seen them in game, and Liani of course had a lovely one as well. We shall see. Well, and Attesmythe has an AWESOME costume but he won't BE there at the party! Grrrrrr.
