Whee California
So, after a brief mishap with confusion over I-505, we got to San Francisco around 10:30pm. Found Muffy/Rifkind's place pretty easily; went inside, and she and two of her housemates and Kuibbles (from my crew in PP; he's a Berkeley student so I got him to come over too) were hanging out. So we chatted with everyone for a bit until most everyone went to sleep... and then Kui and Damien and I stayed up talking until like 4am about tons of random stuff. Kui is such a sweetie! It was really fun hanging out and all, and since the three of us all crashed on the floor of the same room, it was kinda like a PP slumber party almost. Heh.
Today I IM'ed around a little on my phone... caught up with Cort, and made plans to come down here and hang out. Then I spent the afternoon at Rif's place; she was at work but the other guys whose names I still can't remember (Chris and Adam maybe?) were around; Kui and Damien and I played Domaine with one of said argh-I-forget-the-name housemates, who was really cool to hang out with. Afterwards we ate leftover food for lunch, and then we ended up playing Devil Dice. I still get kicked in vs. mode, but I played Endless and got up to level 31 or so and had everyone in the room just going "Oh my GOD, she's still GOING" after I pulled off some crazy combos. Har. That was really fun. We pretty much had DD going on until Rif got home.
I took off around 6:30; gave Kui a ride to a BART station, and then I drove down to San Mateo, where I went to Cort's place, and then we went to feed Tom Maher's cat over in Mountain View, and then drove along El Camino until we found somewhere for dinner - "Max's" or whatever. Crazy huge menu full of yummy stuff... totally stuffed our faces, it was great, including these weird deep-fried reuben sandwich bites for appetizers and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Mmmm. Came back here after and we played Amplitude for an hour or two and then Cort went to sleep and I've been... well, I've been Puzzle Pirating a little, and other net surfing. It's good to be on an internet console that isn't my cellphone. Yay.
My phone gets no signal in the valley. It sucks.
I need more friends in the area with nothing to do during the day :)
