cali tripping planning etc

I am back in Seattle. No major issues with the flight except it felt really long and the pilot mis-landed at first and had to re-take off.

I am planning to drive down to California on Saturday. I think the current plan is that Jeff (Damienroc) is going to come along with me since he needs to get to SF.

I figure on stopping in Eugene on that Saturday night and hopefully finding somewhere to crash with like Tyler or Mendel or someone... then driving down to SF on Sunday and dropping Jeff off at Rif's place, and continue to wherever my first couch ends up being. I wanna stop in Sacramento on the way, but am not sure whether it's feasible.

I wanna be in the bay area until at least Wednesday. Then drive down to the LA area and visit Oren and whoever else is around (and Arcade Infinity!). I wanted originally to go to San Diego but I'm not actually sure I'll be going there anymore, since I'm not sure where I'd stay.

So um, I need to start gathering people's phone numbers and whatnot for when I'm in the area. I'm hoping to couch-hop a bit so I get to see different people. (I was already planning to hit up Cort and I-Gene for their couches...) I also need directions to places, hmm.

I'll go on about Tuesday/Wednesday some other time.

Also: Does anyone in Seattle wanna come with me to the Mariners/Orioles game tonight? I have tickets and I forgot to go ask someone to go with me...

Mislanding and re-taking off doesn't sound like something that should be very common with commerical flights. I'd have been really freaked out about it.

I'll go =D

I certainly wish I could. I want to see the O's sweep the Mariners at Safeco for the first time. Mheh.

I'll go if no one else.

I won't expect to see you at gaming on Saturday, then. :-)

Yay. Come stay with us. Simon and I. Don't know if Tom will be back by then. Wednesday night we could go to the board gaming thing, if you'd be looking to make up for lost Seattle gaming time. =)

"...and the pilot mis-landed at first and had to re-take off."

A missed approach, huh? Funny; I've *never* had to go through one, and I've been on some landings with significant crosswind. Wonder what precipitated it.

Anyway, I believe you already have my phone number. And just in case: I won't be offended if you decide you want to crash elsewhere. :)

Oh, and AI's screen is kinda wonky. Beware. (But Pop'n 11!)

If you really wanted to slum I bet you could stay with my mom on her boat in San Diego. :) It's a bit crowded with two dogs, a cat and a teenager, but my mom is very hospitable. :D And you should post where you're going to be in the bay area so Jesse and I can maybe see you too. Although we did just see you at Carnival. :)

Cool! I could see you twice in three months, on either side of the country!
