birthday whee
Well, today was the birthday.
I pretty much did everything I said I'd do.
I started off the morning by getting my car into a position in which it could not be extracted from the garage without the person next to me moving their car, so I ran upstairs panicked and got the building manager to call them up and move their car. Thank god they were home and did. I was ten mins late to Todai as a result, but whew.
Todai was fun... Jack and Casey and Megan and DJ joined me, and you can indeed get a free lunch on your birthday instead of a free dinner. So I did. It was fun hanging out and talking to everyone. Casey gave me a copy of Culdcept for my birthday, and DJ gave me a whole bunch of ducks. I am not kidding. A duck lamp and some duck chocolates and a duckybank. Oi. Ducks! I'll take a picture of them all soon.
Came home, ran my 27/27k tournament on PP. Had like 50 people enter. I got three rounds in and then Bootystealer stomped me. Eventually Sart won over Tedv. Booty ran a tournament shortly after with like 16 people which I won though, so it was all good.
Jason called, and Nick called, and apparently my dad called while I was out, and so on. It's always better to call my cellphone.
Eli and I went to the Yankees-Mariners game which went MUCH better than my birthday game last year. We were up 2-0 after the first inning, ultimately winning 6-2. I got to see Edgar Martinez hit his 500th career double and his 299th career home run. Whee! The stadium was PACKED, with 46,491 people, the largest attendance ever at Safeco. It was in general a pretty damn amazing game, seriously, there were some great plays and some great pitching, and I was wearing my Hasegawa shirt and he even pitched an inning for us, whee. Oh and let's not forget that Ryan Franklin pitched an outstanding game as well. He even struck out all three on the side once when it was Giambi/Sheffield/Posada. Good stuff.
Well, anyway, it was a good game. I drove Eli home after, and then I came home. Bleh. PP put me in a bad mood so I played PNM and unpacked a box of pictures which also made me a little grumpy because I'm not sure whether to put out all the pictures of me and Eli out, or put them away and use the frames for other things, or whatnot. It's a little weird.
And then I went to order tickets to the May 18th Phillies game. [EDIT: I booched it then, but called the ticket line Saturday morning, so it's all good.]
but uh... other than that... it was a good birthday, thank you for all the good wishes. I wish I wasn't such a twit to do silly things that ruin my day.

I guess you were. :) Paula was not happy with me for even entertaining the notion that it might be a good thing if the Mariners win.

Hey, while I'm thinking about it, can you tell me what happened on Tuesday evening? It was Twins 2, Mariners 3, top of the 9th, 2 outs, and the Twins got a base hit down the right field line. The fielder threw back to home and the ball got there just in time for what looked like a tie at home base. The ump called the runner out, and the runner was furious about it. That out would have been Game Over, but instead I noticed they gave the Twins the run and went to the bottom of the 9th.
So I'm curious as to what actually happened there, since I couldn't hear anything from the game. (I was out bowling at the time.)

I was there, but that explains it better.
To be honest, I couldn't really see what happened. It was dumb anyway. Shoulda been 3-2 with Moyer getting the win.

Sorry, I don't know all that much about baseball.
