I power my christmas lights by my own exuberance
hello, i am dumb for being up this late, but, blah. i had too much energy when getting home from partying so i wasted it on SSX for an hour and a half. I still can't seem to do the jump I want to on Elysium or beat the finals in Snowdream, so, blah.
anyway, it was a normalish day at work, but a fun night for partying. I dressed very festively, in my Christmas holly tie and vest and black shiny pants and all, and since I'd worn that on Monday for the concert and SFFS meeting, I augmented it by putting christmas lights in my hair. I did this by running a string through the battery pack part of the christmas lights, tying the string around my neck but under my tie, and then (my hair is in a ponytail) I started at the top of my ponytail and wound the light string around it until i got to the bottom and tied it off with a ponytail holder. 6 feet of lights, 2.5 feet of ponytail, not bad, huh? I think a lot of people liked it.

ralphmelton and lorimelton's house. It was some neighbors and some randoms and tons of ex-Claritech people. I got to talk to people that I don't usually see, like Eeyore and Sharon, and gossip about Claritech people with everyone, and give chocolate to Jean, and pick on Horowitz (and get picked on by Horowitz). That was really funny 'cause I introduced Eli to him and it turns out that Eli's advisor was Horowitz's advisor when he got his PhD from CMU 13 years ago. Weird. Then a bunch of them sat around talking about programming language stuff while I played soccer with the cats (no, i didn't kick the cats, the cats would bat this ball around and i would kick it back to them when it went astray). Overall it was a lot of fun. We left around midnight...
...to go to a party at the Lodge that had started at 9pm. They were watching Dude, Where's My Car? when we arrived. Whee! People there really liked my lights, especially Ted's girlfriend Addie, who had a mini-christmas tree hat she had been wearing. Festive. I sat around and talked mostly to Rochberg, Charlie, Shafeeq, and jflinn, about bridge and about blowing up things and setting stuff on fire in undergrad times. By the time we got there the basement was empty, but we went down to check out the lights under the blacklight anyway. It looked pretty cool.
So, I had a really fun night being at lots of parties. Yay parties!
Now it is 4am and I should stop thinking about snowboards and start thinking about sleep.
But instead I am going to write a long rambling entry about friends and why I am not attending the LFD tomorrow. I'm going to make it friends-only though. People who are mad that they can't read my friends-only entries should get accounts or something. You know who you are.
