reverse jet-lag?

Okay. So basically, I woke up in Japan on Monday April 12 at 9am, got showered and dressed and finished my last little packing tasks, and was checked out of the ryokan around 10:30am, but left my suitcases there because I wasn't getting the train to the airport until 1pm.

Nykkel and I walked to the Ikebukuro station together; he was going off to shop in Akihabara and I was just going to wander for the afternoon. It was really weird saying goodbye to him; I mean, after spending 12 days with him every day suddenly I wasn't going to see him for 2 weeks or so. Very weird. Well, at any rate, we both survived the trip and neither of us tried to kill each other, so it's all good.

So, I needed to waste about 2 hours. I went to Moai. Note to self: 10:30am is a great time to go there, only 3-4 of the 6 PNM machines are in use! So. I accomplished a reasonably cool goal: I passed West Shinjuku Cleaning Theme, on Hyper, as an EXTRA STAGE. This means that not only did I get Ex stage but I passed that damn song under the Ex stage conditions. Go me.

After a buncha PNM and a little IIDX, I stopped by the Adores UFO catcher place and hooked 3 Hello Kitty keychains and then went back to the west side of the station. Stopped by C&C for some katsu curry; realized it was only noon when I was done, so I played some more PNM at Game Fantasia and wandered around the Ikebukuro area a little more. Got back to the ryokan at 12:20 and grabbed my suitcases.

Getting to the station only took me like 15-20 mins; I went to the C6 exit and lugged everything down the stairs, but once I got that done it wasn't too bad. I went in the proper entrance to use the elevator up to the platform. So there I was at 12:45 waiting for my 13:04 Narita Express train. Heh. I downed most of a Kirin lemon tea, and then got on the train.

I felt really sick on the train though. Maybe it was the curry, maybe it was the heat, maybe it was the lemon tea, maybe it was going backwards at high speeds, but I had major stomach pains, like of my acid-trouble sort. I felt almost like I was going to throw up, and I must have been totally green by the time I got to the airport. Infact I almost thought of saying I was sick, but figured it would probly complicate things. So, I got to the airport, got a cart, wheeled my stuff through several security things and up several escalators. In the ticket line the guy behind me commented on my Hanshin Tigers Hello Kitty and we talked about baseball for a while. He was headed to NYC to see the Yankees and Mets (both Matsui people).

Then I stood in another line, and another line, and then I got to the airport gate around 15:30 for my 16:40 flight. I think I finally stopped feeling nauseous about 10 minutes before I got on the plane. I didn't sleep on the plane at all; I watched "I'll Be There" (a Craig Ferguson movie which was quite good), "Mona Lisa Smile" 1.5 times; it was actually pretty good for a chick flick, and then parts of some other movies, and I read some of my baseball stuff, and I listened to music, and whatnot.

Got to the Seattle airport; my phone worked again :) I noticed Jeff was "asleep" on IM but didn't think too much of it; I went through customs and baggage and THEN called him and it turned out he overslept. Oops. So I spent another 40 mins at the airport playing on my phone and reading email and whatnot. Then Jeff showed up and drove me home and we hung out here for a few hours looking at stuff and pictures, and we went to Gordito's for lunch, and then he went home.

I ended up staying up until almost 11pm on Puzzle Pirates just talking to people and doing OCL and whatnot. That was pretty stupid. I did want to stay up until 8 or 9 just to get on a reasonable schedule. I talked to Jason on the phone for a minute or two before totally zonking out and falling asleep. And then I got up at 6am today and I just couldn't get back to sleep, so oh well. (How many hours was I awake anyway? 9am-5pm in Japan, 9 hours on a plane, 10am-11pm in Seattle. About 30? Hmm.)

Yosaku's webpage. Among others. This was literally I think 2 days ago. So... Monday JP time, I think.
