I have no willpower when it comes to game stores
So, today I did something incredibly retarded.
I went to the Wizards of the Coast game store at Northgate.
Okay, that doesn't really sound retarded, right? Let me rephrase:
I went to the Wizards of the Coast game store at Northgate, which was having a 20% or more off everything in the store because they're closing all the WOTC game stores.
Hmm... not retarded enough yet? But wait, there's more!
I went to the Wizards of the Coast game store at Northgate, which was having a 20% or more off everything in the store because they're closing all the WOTC game stores. I then proceeded to spend around $230 on board games, which means that despite the fact that I guess I "saved" around $60, in reality, I just spent most of my Christmas money.
I got some games (most of which I've played, but didn't own) -
-- Settlers of Catan Cities & Knights
-- Settlers of Catan Card Game
-- Settlers Card Game Expansions
-- Settlers of the Stone Age
-- Settlers of Catan Travel Version (it's the CUTEST THING EVER)
-- Pirateer
-- Domaine (A Klaus Teuber game, I'd never seen it before - anyone played this?)
-- Hello Kitty Uno
-- Hacker (yeah, I am the Net Ninja)
-- Deluxe Cribbage (because I'd never owned a board before. I wonder if any of my friends out here even know how to play Cribbage?)
I also got some dice and dice bags but that's neither here nor there.
I debated a few of the D&D books, since hey, 20% off, but I'm not sure how many of them I want. I might go back at some point. I *think* it may still be cheaper for me to get those from Amazon.
Hi, I'm retarded.
So after that I went to Best Buy and I spent the rest of my Christmas money on a new hard drive, which I already mentioned. Then I came home, and Eli and I went to Blue C Sushi for kaiten sushi a bit after that. I really love that place sometimes, they just always seem to have a lot of what I want on the belt. Then I came home and sailed back a ship I'd had out for memorizing Ruby maps in Puzzle Pirates, and I cleaned up my room a bit because otherwise I have no room to take apart my computer anyway. By the time I had enough space cleaned up, it was around 11:30pm, and I figured, BLAH, probably a bad call to start fiddling with the hard drive and installing OSes and whatever else at this point.
So tomorrow when I get home from work I'll probably start working on my computer. Whee! Thanks for all the feedback about the hard drive. I feel a bit less stupid for freaking out about it, and kind of excited about the prospect of having cool new stuff on my computer. (While I'm at it, I'm going to also upgrade my computer to XP at long last, since I found the XP upgrade disc that
nickjong got me at the CMU computer store last year. I also found some of Eli's software CDs that apparently had been sitting in my room since we moved to Seattle. Isn't that kind of scary?)

The card game is pretty fun for a 2-player game. I really ought to find someone to play it with...
