Hehe. So today I was dressed up as a pirate ALL DAY! Ann and I went to lunch in the cafeteria and sat around as Disco Stu and Janthina and some people talked to us and some didn't... I met a CMU guy, Brian Schuster, but I swear I do not remember him from CMU, though he was SCS class of '99 or so. Anyway. It was fun. Work was distracting, and around 3 the trick-or-treating was supposed to start, but at 3:45 we'd gotten ONE trick-or-treater, so I wrote a note to our version of cmu.misc.market saying, "NEEDED: Trick-or-treaters. Please deliver to the 8th floor of Pac Med and we'll give you candy" or something like that. Fortunately, the trick-or-treaters percolated up to the 8th floor a little after that, and we gave away most of our stash. Woo! Around 5pm Ann and I decided to go wander around the building and check out decorations and stuff. I took some pictures. We got stuck on the 5th floor for a while in the big cube farm area... datavore and actually went into his martian cave to admire his Macintoshes! The Taiko t-shirt guy was on the other side of the wall from him, but I wasn't sure how or what to say about that. So Ann got stuck talking for a while and I went back up to my office. Got some work done and then headed out to Bellevue for a halloween party.
I saw a lot of Bemani folks (Rumi, Met, Keevon, Amber, Charlieee, Steve, Ray, Laura, Max, Foy, Foy's girlfriend, DJ, Nykkel, Meghan, Stephen, Joelle... that might be it, actually). Oh, and I met this Matt guy who is one of DJ's Virtual On friends, but he turned out to be cool and also from PA and fun to talk to, and we played a bunch of puzzle games and Mr. Driller and stuff. Infact, I pretty much spent the entire party hiding in Met and Rumi's room hanging out... I think Nykkel and I spent a good hour or two chatting about puzzle pirates and stuff after we got bored playing Mr. Driller. I must admit that it's kinda nice to have someone to talk to about it in real life, since most of the time if I mention it at all, I have to explain it, and people look at me like I'm a weirdo. ARRRRR!
Came out of hiding when they started carting off the under-21 gang, and DJ and I played a whole bunch of Pop'n'Music battle 2-controller mode. I basically did "Road of Sana", heh. People were starting to assemble the phalanx of alcoholic beverages, so I decided to duck out at that point, although they DID take a picture of me as a pirate with a bottle of rum! Har!
Came home, played PP for a short while. /complained about some idiots, gave Spinn some money, jobbed withmygrane but had some network problems, fixed them, came back on, did a short run with Alie as a "maiden voyage" for the Famous Blowfish, and now I sleeeeeeeeep. Hopefully soon I will have a good picture of my pirate costume to post... one that makes me look cute rather than ret-arrrrr-ded.
*sigh* Tomorrow will be a pretty bizarre afternoon, I fear, and to unwind I'm probably going to go to Illusionz in the late evening, from 8 or 9pm till closing, I think, if anyone wants to carpool or whatnot. I could be diverted from this plan, but eh, we'll see.
