happy 0x001Ath birthday to me
tuesday: NOTHING TO SAY. I went to work. I worked. I am sad to be leaving my friends on the 3rd floor. I went to Uwajimaya to give Rumi her keys. We saw Iron Chef Morimoto, who was signing books there. A gazillion people were there, too. All of the possible plans for tonight blew up, so I ended up at home doing laundry.
It's now past midnight. Happy birthday to me. (AND TO MISS
flotastic AMBER!!!!!) Thanks to the cool people who have sent me cards and happy messages. My dad called tonight too. Unfortunately I wasn't in a mood to talk to him. Bleh.
I vividly remember 1am on May 7, 1998, sitting in the Baker H&SS cluster finishing up our presentation for Advanced Prof/Tech writing... (hi
jacquez, remember that crap?) I'd gone out for dinner with my Japanese class earlier that night to Orient Kitchen, and ate SOMETHING bad, because I found myself throwing up in the bathrooms in Baker a bunch of times. I remember talking to
dvarin on zephyr like "It's my 21st birthday and I'm throwing up but I haven't had anything to drink!"
Hey, so how many of you remember celebrating my other birthdays with me? A good number of you were there for them... starting with my birthday in 1993 when my grandmother threw me a Sweet 16 (I didn't want one), then my birthday in 1994 when a bunch of us went to Joy Tzin Lau for chinese food and then to see PCU at the Riverview - and in 1995 we studied for the 15-211 final which was on May 7 - and in 1996 we had that gigantic party at MMA134 where we got back at the ASA House for all of their parties - and in 1997 Larry and I celebrated our birthdays together at Pizzeria Uno in Monroeville - and in 1998, I went to Mad Mex with like 30 people and I had no ID so
angelbob ordered me a bunch of drinks, along with my first surprise birthday thing ever when Carl and Kevin baked me a cake at Roman's house on May 3. And in 1999 I had that huge Shady House birthday party (with the infamous "scraping joel young's sorry ass off my couch" zsig that resulted). In 2000 I went to the Church Brew Works for the first of the "I have N people showing up" where n ended up being (n log n) CBW gatherings, and in 2001 I had the co-birthday with
ralphmelton on Cinco De Mayo, and in 2002 we did the CBW again with another hundred people and went to see Spider-Man.
And now it is 2003. Wow. I hope TMBG either sings Older or It's Not My Birthday tomorrow night. I hear they actually had a birthday cake for Flansburgh at tonight's show :) I should have gone... tonight was dumb. Oh well, at least I did laundry. Goodnight.

proz pointed out that today is Konami day (573... 5-7-03...) HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!?!
