Tax Day, Tuesday, Friday Five, etc.

Well, to most of you, Happy Tax Day! To Sumner ([profile] sumnerhayes), Laurel ([profile] shoebox_bird), Stevie ([personal profile] cheerfulchaotic), and Josh (no LJ for that slacker), Happy Birthday! It's such a great day in history... the day Lincoln died... the sinking of the Titanic... the opening of McDonald's... etc. :)

Hey, I forgot to do the Friday Five last week.
1. What was the first band you saw in concert?
With my mom, I think it was Daryl Hall and John Oates, sometime on the H2O tour in 1982. On my own, it was They Might Be Giants, July 31, 1992. (Yes, the shirt I wore last Friday really is almost 11 years old.)

2. Who is your favorite artist/band now?
Good question. Eddie from Ohio, Barenaked Ladies, TMBG, Moxy Fruvous, Toad the Wet Sprocket are up there on English-speaking bands, and Dreams Come True, L'arc~en~Ciel, Rumania Montevideo, The Brilliant Green, and Hysteric Blue are way up there on Japanese-speaking bands.

3. What's your favorite song?
I can't possibly have a favorite song, there are too many.
One of my favorite songs to listen to is "Flower" by L'arc~en~Ciel. It has really amazing texture. I'm also inordinately fond of "Everything Old is New Again" by Barenaked Ladies, "The End of the Tour" by TMBG, "Bleecker to Broadway" by Eddie From Ohio, "Fly" by Moxy Fruvous...

4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
Violin.

5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?
It would be fun to meet someone like Naoki (of Bemani fame), or Thomas Howard, or maybe Miwa Yoshida of DCT.

Random question- if I were to buy an Eddie from Ohio album, which should I get first?

Also, I don't know if you've seen it or not, but BNL set up a blog while they're in the studio recording the new album.

Snubbing DJ TAKA? TaQ? Outlandish! ;) Taka is whom I'd like to meet of bemani fame. I hope in future US DDR releases they put in those Q&A's with bemani artists. It was an interesting perspective to read on their thoughts about bemani music.
