Narrows Free Bemani & carnival worries :(
I went to work today and ate some noodles and did some work.
Tanya and Charlie picked me up at 5pm or so, got some bubble tea, and we headed down to Tacoma. Got there around 6. There was no Amber, and Bill basically put a whole bunch of credits on the DDR Ex machine and left us to fight it out with a coin line. Eventually Max had the great idea to write people's names on some quarters in line, but still. It was kind of annoying, line-wise, and there were these chicks who kept stealing quarters off the coin line and from people. I couldn't figure out what was up with them, but it was annoying, I didn't want to get in line for DDR because I figured they'd take my quarter.
Hey, but I *finally* passed Least 100 Seconds on Drummania, it's a level 89, FEAR ME. Except that like 5 mins later I dared Keevon to do it and he passed it too on his first try ever and made me look like a retard :( The Narrows machines are set way too easy. But they work well. Oh well, I'll save the gaming details for the gaming journal. Well, except some moments - like playing Super Session with Edgars and Tanya and Charlie right before the KBM died. And the Keep On Movin' challenge, and Keevon passing Legend of Max after we'd all left to go to IHOP.
The guys from my drum corps were there! That was exciting, they were like "where've you been?" and I was like "well, first there was no rehearsal, and then I got busy... I'll be there like, a month from now", and they picked on me for calling it band instead of corps. :P And I remembered to bring Rayna's shirt but she wasn't there at first so I gave it to Karl. But everyone showed up eventually. Dylan and Rayna and Amber and all, late. Farren was there, and the aforementioned people plus Crackoon, who got harrassed by the annoying girls who were stealing coins. Steve wasn't there :( I was all sad about that.
After NFB we went to IHOP... Amber, Tanya, Charlie, Crackoon, Dylan, Rayna, me, Keevon, and Edgars. Fun times were had, mostly due to there being this maple syrup in a thingy marked "Hot". So Amber was dumping the syrup all over her pancakes... "HEY, THIS STUFF ISN'T HOT". And then it was dripping on the table, so she was like "I'm getting Hot all over the place!" Then she realized what she said, and it became the quote of the evening. I got my food late and no hash browns, I was all sad. But other than that it was fun, even with the whole ongoing Hot topic.
Tanya and Charlie gave me a ride home and Tanya and I talked about marching/concert/etc band in the car the whole way home. Yay. Now I need to resize a few sakuracon pictures and then go to sleepybye.
I'm all worried about Carnival. Bleh. I'm kind of right now assuming Kiltie concert Thursday, then hopefully find people to hang out with (hi Jason!), do random stuff during the day Friday (like Mobot), then TMBG Friday night, then hang out with lounge alumni all day Saturday for the BBQ and who knows what else, but I'm gonna latch on to Nick and nobody's going to take me away from him :) Sunday, no plans yet, but I hear blk's having a party, and hopefully we can visit the Sunday Dinner folks? (Our flight's out at like 8pm though...) And I'm not sure exactly where we're staying, if worse comes to worst I'll sleep on Carl's floor. Yay, more time with Carl. :) And blah, need to schedule time to see all the zephyr folks. Maybe Thursday and I'll take a second dinner to go to JM's with the gang? BLAH. I have to see so many people and there's no time :(

But I wouldn't miss your birthday dinner for the world!

I think what I meant is that I figured Saturday would be a good day to hang out with lounge people all day and do goofy games and things.

Actually, it occurs to me that I have no plans. Just this past weekend I figured out that Christina and Christine would let me sleep at the Beel0r house. I have no idea what I'm doing. I ought to make sure I don't jilt Kyle, though.... And I have no idea what my daughter has planned for her birthday on Saturday....
But yeah! I totally want to hang out with you lots!
Grr, I wish I had more time there....

Comfortable sofa-bed in central location
Priceline can work pretty well... don't know how busy this weekend is though...
Otherwise, I'd be happy to put you/Eli up for the weekend if you are still looking for a place to stay in a central location (my apartment is on Fifth between Craig and Morewood - within walking distance of most of the good stuff). I won't be much of a host but could provide a semi-comfortable sofa-bed, wireless access, and a relatively clean place to crash (with too much artwork).
I'll be more into the early morning stuff though (calling races Friday & Saturday) but can give you my extra set of keys to come and go as needed.
Call/e-mail me (412-967-4750 (C), or alan@charness.com) if you still are looking for a place to crash.
