Ides of March games and IZ and...
4am and all is well... or some reasonable facsimile thereof.
(I am the goddess of Blockade ;) )
Anyway, today I slept in, glorious sleep, and got up eventually and we were going to go to
alegria_a and
ezzie00's Ides of March game party. Except a few wrenches got thrown in our path - first, rides coordinating with Josh and Megan got all weird because Heidi and Cory were moving today. Second, we still didn't know if Paul wanted a ride. Third... we had no fucking clue where Joy and Ezzie actually live. Whoops. The first got solved by Josh calling like "Don't wait up for us," the second by calling Paul who went "I'm rollerblading. Don't wait up for me," and the third by calling Ezzie and going "Where the fuck do you live?"
Eventually we made our way up to Bothell and hung out at their house for a few hours. I played a whole bunch of Super Monkey Ball with Ezzie and Jarrett and some other guy, and then got into some games with Josh and Megan when they got there, like Mamma Mia and Programmer's Nightmare and I forget what else. Josh was wearing the coolest fucking t-shirt ever. I ate a bunch of snack foods and cheese and my stomach got really sick for a while, which sucked. So I don't remember much of the afternoon except hanging out, bellyaching, and seeing people (Hi
shimmeringjemmy,
lordandrei,
lurker,
kitanaor, apparently the infamous
rev_blacky, and whoever else). I took a few pictures of the cats and some people. Then around 8pm Megan wanted to go home for homework, and I wanted to go to IZ, and Eli wanted to go home, so... I drove people back to Greenlake and then headed to IZ.
At IZ I didn't actually play any DDR at all since I still felt sick. Did a bunch of DM and PPP, got two games of session in, one with Super Session (Me, CorranFox, Keevon, Charlie, and Okaeshi) and one with plain ol' GF/DM with Tanya and Tada. Played a bunch of PPP super-stealth, I'm really liking it, oddly - it forces me to really think about the routines, and I'm up to like 10-15 songs I can do that way. I talked to Robert for a while about DM5 - I was like "Well, I was almost considering being called out, but your qualifiers made me totally change my mind - thanks Mr. Administrogdor! I'll be judging for you kay thanks bye!" OH! Jeremy was there! I hadn't seen him in like MONTHS, so we hung out talking for a while, that was cool, he's in a ska band now in addition to jazz band and going nuts at MS so he's been really busy. I'm trying to sell him on Beatmania IIDX, sometime I should invite him over to play, I think. I should have a mini-IIDX gathering again with like... 8 people or so. Anyway. I also spent like an HOUR in the Magicafe talking to Rumi about stuff, which actually helped me vaguely sort out some things in my head. I'm such a big big dork. But I'm slowly figuring things out, really I am.
Other random people I hadn't seen in ages were there too, like Sylffor and Jerrad and Okaeshi. (There was a HUGE line on DM!) And of course Portland people like Jeff and Dianna and Stephen and Joelle and Darren. Joelle brought me a cookie :) I brought my camera but I took no pictures. Oh well.
After IZ I went to
saenoda's place with a bunch of people. I had brought Apples to Apples, but we never ended up playing it. I went through wacky anime stuff with Tanya for a while. She has a lot of the same manga I do. There was SSBM going on the whole time, and Stepmania and Counterstrike going on on the computers. Jeremy and I were playing through a bunch of SM songs and laughing at the ridiculous ratings. I played in some games of SSBM and actually managed to kill some people, even though I still mostly placed 3rd and 4th. It was fun, but around 2:30am I realized I was totally zonked and going to crash, and I finally got out the door around 3, got home at 3:30, writing this now, crashing shortly. Yay.
