Pictures - cats, ducks, and a night on the Bemani Scene

Okay, pictures, because I spent the last two hours working on them:

Saturday night at Illusionz and TGIFridays - silly pictures of a gazillion Seattle Bemani people.

Cute Fuzzy Things - kitty cats and birds and stuff at the animal shelter / pet store we went to on Sunday. For those that don't care about Bemani.

Ducks on Greenlake - from a Sunday in the Park with Deanna a few weeks ago. For jiggery_pokery and other duck fans.

I'll make a real entry in a second... plus this way people can comment on how silly the pictures are. At the very least some of the cats ones are awesome - I really should work on putting together a real survey of my cat photography, since I have so much... just call me a wannabe Walter Chandoha or something.

Favourite ducks photo is #3, because of the water's ripples and reflections, but to be honest I'm more impressed with the picture of the squiggle. Squirrels are not good at standing still in my experience, so to achieve peace with the squirrel to the point where you could take that sort of photo of it, particularly so close up is really good. (Or was it megazoom?) The light conditions suit the squiggle pic far more than they do the duck pics, too.

I liked the cat photos, but found them slightly sad. An animal shelter is a good place for them to be, but it would be better if they were out there being looked after by owners... :-/

I think that may actually be the coolest forking picture ever.

Another one of my secret superhero powers is that I know how to talk to squirrels and make them come up to me and stand still. I'm actually not kidding about this, just ask Eli. We took like five pictures of the squirrel, but a lot of them came out kind of bad, so I only posted one. It was about 2 feet from me when I took that one though.

I was debating asking the cat shelter if I can come in and take some photographs of their kitties and maybe make posters or webpages for them to help get owners for the cats. I honestly didn't even know this place existed until I walked past it after lunch that day. Hmm, looks like they do have a webpage: http://www.animaltalkrescue.org/ I am hoping to find a place where I can volunteer to walk dogs and stuff this summer, though, so who knows.
