Twas a good day, relatively. This morning on the bus I was reading American Gods, and the girl sitting next to me was reading Kindred Spirits (Dragonlance Meetings Sextet vol. 1). So I was like "dude! That's a great book!" and we talked about Dragonlance a bit. And then megami called me up and we got lunch together at Uwajimaya! That was really awesome. I had a lot of fun, and took WAY too long a lunch break, but it's always cool to hang out with Rumi! And I got another Hello Kitty 3-D puzzle. (Later I found out it was the same puzzle as one I have, unfortunately, but in pink translucent instead of white.)

After work, I went to Megan and Josh's house for RPGing. I got my ass handed to me at SSBM while we were waiting for everyone to get there (Miranda is really good, and I'm not used to a lot of the weird stages). RPGing itself went pretty well, our plot seems to be moving a bit, although I have to admit that I'm not sure I'm playing my character quite the way I imagine her to be. The important part is that we all made lots of silly jokes and laughed a lot. I'm still of course really waiting for us to finish this and start some good ol' 3E stuff. I really like a lot of the RPG group people though, I wish I could hang out with them all more. And Megan made a fantastic pasta lasagna casserole thing for dinner, and there was lots of garlic bread! I ate too much food, I need to be more careful about that. Heidi gave me a ride home! Whee.

So you're not using 3E right now? What system are you using, then?

We're playing Aberrant... it's a vaguely X-Men-ish RPG system. We're not really like superheroes though; more like random people with superpowers. My character is a mechanical engineering super-genius with powers like machine empathy, infrared and sonar vision, teleportation, mad driving and science skills... I intended her to have a more shady past, which hasn't really been coming out in the roleplaying, even if it's apparent from the character sheet.

In theory, the next campaign with this group will be fantasy, and I've been slowly talking Cory into how cool 3E is, so hopefully we'll use it. I miss my 3E campaigns. Bleh.

Wow, that sounds pretty cool. I've never used anything but 3E, myself, but I play with plenty of people who used to be into 2nd edition, Star Wars, and GURPS.

I've played a whole bunch of RPG systems in the last... uh.. 13 years?, and D&D 3E is actually my all-time favorite, I have to admit. So you're not missing much. :)
