Hehe, now I can elaborate.
Oh yeah. I guess that some of you may have now seen the picture of why I am an awesome fiancee. :)
So basically, there's this Thai cookbook that Eli really wanted a few months ago. I was going to get it for him for his birthday (in August) but forgot. Then I forgot to get it for him for Christmas. Well, yesterday I was in Uwajimaya thinking, "I should do something cute and funny and a complete surprise for Eli for Valentine's Day..."
I bought him two cards (I haven't given him the other one yet), and a whole bunch of shiny red origami paper... and the Thai cookbook. I had heart stickers from a trip to Michael's months ago. After getting home from DDR last night, I folded two origami flowers, and several origami hearts.. and when Eli was sitting there doing crosswords waiting for me to come sleep, I snuck downstairs, replaced his mousepad with the Thai cookbook, put the origami hearts all over the keyboard, the flowers on top of the monitor, and put heart stickers around his monitor as well. Put one of the cards on top of the Thai book, and wrote "ELI" out of heart stickers on the envelope.
And then I came upstairs, finished yesterday's LJ entry, helped him with some crosswords, and went to sleep, totally straight-faced, no hint at all that I'd done something silly. Went to work this morning still giggling about it. :) I'm silly, but I guess I thought this would be a cuter surprise than just going "hey, I got you a present, here..." Now if only I could have figured out a way to get a camera to capture his expression upon seeing his computer table covered in Valentine's day crap...
Man, nobody can get any work done here without email. Screw you guys, I'm going home. :)
