Wednesday, IZ, etc
Hehe, I'm about as non-bummed right now as I was bummed at this point 24 hours ago.
I guess work went well, meetings and stuff. Sushi for lunch to cheer up, and later noodles before DDR. Left at 5:45 when
onetwolittleb got to the building... and we went to IZ! Whee IZ!
katybeth and Seth also came out to hang out with us; I think Seth is the first person I actually know that played the rock-climbing game. It was relatively uncrowded in a good way. There were enough people that Cat got to see plenty of insanely good Bemani players in action, but not so crowded that we had a long wait to play. So we played a lot! It was nice to have someone always on the other DDR pad, I don't actually like playing alone that much, but usually feel awkward asking others to play with me. Hmm, so Farren was there, and I lent him Extra Mix, for editing purposes. Other people were there, like Laura, Tada, Hyunsuk, Max, Tanya, Charlie, Kiefer, Fox... I think that's about it. Apparently there was a Microsoft party tonight, with a bunch of German guys. They gave us all their leftover cards and game tickets when they were leaving. I came out with 5 IZ cards... would have been 6 but I gave one to Cat since it only had 45 points on it, as a souvenir. :) I don't know how many points the rest have, I'll have to find out sometime. Oh, and I gave a registration form and check to Tanya for Sakuracon, to give to Jack, so I guess I'm committing to that. I seriously want to be Tran! Damn me and my merely mediocre seamstress skillz0rzses.
Anyway, I accomplished a LOT at IZ tonight, Drummania-wise, and even DDR-wise. (3 new AA's on the card. A'ing Sunny Day Sunday Extreme my first time playing it. etc.) I guess the new shoes are finally working out?
After IZ closed, Kiefer invited me over to hang out for a bit. So I said goodbye to Cat and Seth and Katy (whee! I'm so glad you guys came to IZ!), and then drove to Kiefer's place. We basically spent an hour or two playing Frequency. Whee, 2-player Frequency is funky. I only beat him on Science Genius Girl and a really weirdo remix of some song, but it was still fun. I got lost trying to come home from his place - what is funny is that I drove over 520 by accident, then realized, whoa, I was right by
megami's place, so I actually ended up turning around in the parking lot for her apartment complex! (It was like 12:15 so I didn't bother trying to stop by, figured you guys were asleep...) And since I know how to get home from there, it was no problem. :)
Oh, and I got
ryani to keep an eye out for
zqfmbg at SVGL tonight, and he did! Yay! And he told me that
ts4z is still playing DDR, which I had no idea about. :) Tim was the first person I ever played DDR with, ages and ages and ages ago (ok, like July 4th, 2000, at SVGL). So that's way cool. Now I want to hang out with everyone there. I really should go visit California sometime too...
Actually, what also sucks is that I'm seriously thinking I want to go to Japan next month with Tanya after all. I kept thinking about things I want to buy, places I want to go, etc, when I was driving home. And
alibash's pictures yesterday made me even more sad. I have to stop waffling and just decide already. Dammit. *sigh* Maybe I'll talk to the boss tomorrow. Wonder if the cheap tickets are even still available...
