it's the fifth of july and all that
Jul. 5th, 2012 04:24 pmTuesday night there was a little get-together in Nob Hill for current and former Tagged people. It was good to see Auston, Dan, Jakob, Vance, etc. I had some good work conversations with Nate and Erik, too. Jenny also came so that she could see Vance and people. I introduced her to more of my coworkers, and we ended up leaving together and walking down through the Tenderloin to BART, which was a little scary. And then I went out to Oakland for the evening, basically.
Wednesday was the 4th of July, and we went to the A's-Redsox game that I got free tickets to last week. Unfortunately we got there "late" by which I mean 12:20pm for a 1:05 game, so I couldn't meet Bobby. Doh. The game was entertaining enough though, the A's won 3-2 but David Ortiz hit his 400th career homerun, which was sort of exciting to see. There was a pretty big clusterfuck in the BART station afterwards and so it took us a while to go home. We ended up not seeing fireworks at all, because the Oakland fireworks display got cancelled and the bus to the Berkeley Marina apparently wasn't running on the 4th of July for "sunday schedules", which is retarded if you think about it. Seems like it's been years since I've actually been anywhere for fireworks on the 4th of July, but that's okay, really.
