Diagnosis, version 2: Still muscle spasm and cervical strain. And the reason the rest of my arm has started going numb is from nerve pinching due to the stiff muscles in my shoulder. Also the blood pressure thing. Not sure about that. Hopefully just anxiety.

Procedure, version 2:
1) Referral to a sports orthopedist for physical therapy, first off. (At the same hospital, St. Francis, so it's actually pretty convenient for me to bus to/from work!) I'm supposed to call for an appointment tomorrow.
2) Different meds -- a muscle relaxant and a painkiller that won't make me go totally loopy. Or so they say.
3) Therapy -- apparently rather than only the heating pad, I'm supposed to do heat in the morning and a few stretching exercises, and then ice in the evening and relax as much as possible. Plus whatever therapy the orthopedist recommends.

(The doctor said that massage is a very good idea, but was kinda like "...I don't think acupressure will help this particular problem.")

I don't know why I'm telling you all this, although it'll also serve as a good reminder to myself before I forget everything they said.

Side note: The doctor who treated me was an older guy with tendonitis in his leg and was having trouble walking. I felt pretty bad, but he was like "Well, the funny thing about being a doctor is that I know exactly what's wrong and exactly what I need to do, which is go home and lay down. The sad part is that I can't for another 2 hours." So I'm all like "Dude, I hope you feel better," and he's like "Thanks, but, it's MY job to help YOU feel better, so don't worry about me!"
