So on Thursday night I went to SVGL with I-Gene and Ryan for an oldskool Bemani run. Ryan picked me up after work -- he lives around the corner after all -- and we drove down. Except get this, there's no DDR machine there anymore. I mean, I wasn't really intending to play, but believe it or not, the first time I ever stepped on a real DDR machine was at SVGL in the summer of 2000, I was there with Tim, and it was 1st mix. Crazy. On the other hand, I got to play a lot of Pop'n so that was good, and also Puzzle Fighter on a real machine (and I won). Whee. Afterwards we went to In-N-Out and ate WAY too much in terms of burgers and fries and milkshakes, but whatever :) Yum! It was really good times to hang out with old friends and all.
Tonight after work, one of Jenny's coworkers that I met at the housewarming last week, Christian, came over and we were going to "trade" dances -- he's a crazy lindy/blues guy and I'm a ballroom person -- but what happened mostly was we tried to dance waltz-like things a little and mostly I was hopeless at Lindy. I'm sad because it'd be nice to be better at it, but I'm so... uptight? I dunno, Benoit said the same thing a while back, that I just have to relax. Anyway, it was fun because he was a really nice guy, and we moved couches out of the way and danced in the living room here, and then watched various dance videos on Youtube. Shrug. I just have to get my courage up and go to Friday Night Waltz, I swear.
Oh yeah, on Wednesday we started our D&D group, did I mention that? I'm playing in a group at work, it was started as an experiment this year, there are 2 groups. So mine is Charlie as DM and me and Chris S (the CMU one) and Brian and Curtis who I don't know as well as players. I'm playing a hippie basically -- I had to be a cleric to balance the party but I never play a standard cleric, so I'm an elven archer who mostly wanders through the forest smoking weed essentially, who worships the goddess of the forest, and is a weird tree-hugging freak. I was like "Of course I'm chaotic good... you know... peace man! here, try this, you'll feel better..."
So I dunno, I'm really scatterbrained but at least keeping busy.
