I overslept this morning and barely got to Jingu in time for the game. Like, the game was at 1pm, and I got there at 12:45pm. Went to the Yakult fan club window, they scanned my card and gave me a free ticket. Woo :) I ran around the stadium to the outfield entrance, went in, and fortunately found my friends fairly easily (this time I was with the Shinozawa gang). In the 5 minutes left before the game I ran to get yakisoba for lunch. Saw three very confused-looking white people by the food stands, asked them if it was their first time, and I explained that their tickets were unreserved, sit anywhere, but beware sitting in the middle of the crazy people with trumpets/etc. Didn't have time to explain more, sadly.
I got back to my seat for the first pitch. The Fighters ended up kicking the Swallows's butts, 11-7 in the end -- it was 11-4 going into the 9th inning and then our brilliant Tokyo University graduate Takahiro Matsuka went and walked in a run, and some more hilarity ensued. Poor guy. Overall I had a decent time, but my face is kind of sunburned, oops.
Two of my friends from the Sendai clan were there, sitting behind us, so on the way out I told them I'd be up in Sendai in late April. They were like, "Cool! By yourself? Or how many seats do you need us to save for you?" so I turn to Junko like "hey, how many people are going to Sendai with us?" and she's like "eh?" and I'm like "These are my friends who are leaders of the Michinoku Fighters cheering group, they can take care of us up there..." and so my friends were like "whoa! you really DO know everyone!" and then asked, and we told them it'd probably be like 6 people or so, and so the Sendai pair were like "great, see you next month!" That was kinda crazy.
It was pretty chilly after the game, and relatively late, too, so I actually ran off fairly quickly. Got a footlong Subway Club sandwich from Subway because it impulsively seemed like a good idea, and then took the subway&train home, getting home around 6pm. I chatted with Mike on AIM for a bit, and I wolfed down my sandwich, and then by 7pm I was already out and walking back to the train station...
...to head to volleyball with Intervoll. I can't even remember the last time I played with them, since they've had issues getting courts. (Well, or even the last time I played volleyball at all, I think it was in January with TG.) This time we had 16 people and 2 courts, but that was only enough people for 3 teams. And there were only 4 women. But, the games weren't too bad. I didn't play well but I didn't play poorly either. I'm really out of practice, is all. I did get a decent workout, so I feel good about that, but I have a feeling I'll be in a world of pain tomorrow morning, since I felt like I pulled my left oblique muscle or something like that on my side... that plus the sunburn plus my feet killing me is going to be interesting. We'll see. It's a good kind of pain though, and I really do need to get back into sports and all.
Came home after, stopped by Ito Yokado to buy some bread, and uh... saw that the Calbee Baseball Chips were in stock there so bought a few bags of them, which was kind of a mistake because then I came home and ate a lot of potato chips in order to get baseball cards. Whoops :)
Anyway, I'm totally zonked and kinda planning to spend Monday just relaxing, maybe cleaning the house a bit more. I kinda want to get Sweets Paradise actually, but don't know anyone who would want to go with me, to celebrate Pi Day one day late. Alas. I may also just go try to catch a movie instead, it's been a while since I saw anything here. Who knows.
