Aug. 25th, 2008 01:09 amDon't know why, I don't feel like writing lately. I mean, I do, but I don't. Hard to explain.
It's like, things are boring, but they're not? I feel very introspective lately. Also, my computer "desk", which is still just a laptop resting on a cantilevered laundry board with a cheapo chair under it, is not comfortable, and my right arm and shoulder have been feeling super-sore lately. Either way, I look and go "Wait, there was no entry yesterday? Really? Hmm, what do I have to say about yesterday?" and things like that.
To be fair, yesterday was pretty busy. I had 7 classes, from 11am to 8pm pretty much straight with an hour and a half break in the middle. That is pretty tough. It was raining after work, but I went to Kura anyway and ate cheapo sushi, and stopped by the supermarket, and then I'm not sure really where the evening went, though by then it was 10pm. I played some PP, which I have been doing a bit more lately for whatever reason, mostly just wanting to do brainless puzzle games I guess and having no videogame console here and all. Either way, I don't think I achieved anything yesterday night, so that sucks. (Oh right, I tried the crafting competition and failed. I know I said I wasn't entering anything else and I guess I lied. Ugh.)
Today I spent the afternoon doing some blog catchup (I spend most of my time lately either going to baseball games or feeling overcome with guilt that I haven't blogged about them; must figure out a way to remedy that) and watched the Fighters game a bit (TADANOOOOOOO <3 <3) and then put on my Furuta #27 Yakult shirt and went down to Jingu stadium for our little japanesebaseball.com meetup that we'd planned a month and a half ago.
NATURALLY, it was still raining. Grr.
Well, I met up with the group -- there were 6 of us, plus Garrett from Transpacific Radio stopped by for a few minutes. Out of the other 5 in our group I had met Westbay and Pau and Matt before, and had not met Simon or John. John actually lives in Kyoto and came up to see the Tigers, and Simon is a half-Japanese half-Canadian guy who really loves hockey.
We stood outside the stadium under the overhang to keep dry, and at 6:10pm or so they announced the game was cancelled.
So we went to a yakitori place near Gaienmae station, all 6 of us, and sat around eating yakitori and drinking beer and whatnot for a few hours. I gave people extra Bikkuriman stickers and Pau gave people Calbee chips (with cards, haha). I dunno, it was just interesting to talk nothing but Japanese baseball for 2-3 hours with other people who are just as big geeks about it. Shame we couldn't see a game though.
Dinner broke up around 9, and Pau and I were going to go karaoke, but Simon convinced us to come hang out at his friend's bar instead, so we ended up doing that. It was interesting I guess. The bartender was this almost-50-years-old music nut who is apparently a closet Dragons fan and Simon never knew that before, but I noticed that the guy had a Doala book on his shelf. I miss Pau! He keeps leaving the country for weeks and weeks on end and I feel bad wasting his time when he is here.
Anyway, uh, came home, arriving around midnight, and where did the time go? I dunno. I feel so zoned out lately.
Not sure what to do tomorrow. Want to see baseball, want to specifically see Baystars since it's Takuro's birthday but... alas, if it's rainy there's no fucking way I'm going to Yokohama. But I actually don't really feel like going to the Tokyo Dome to see Chunichi either, oddly enough. Masa got his 203rd win today though, that was nice. Good for him.
