Wind, rain, wind, rain, wind, rain. I feel like I'm in a typhoon, except it's February.
Today was busy, busy, busy. I had 6 classes plus a lot of extra chatting plus a bunch of office duty and phone-answering since Eri didn't get in until 5pm.
I've had my Millennium B class devolve the last few weeks into me chatting with the one student who's been showing up, and we draw a lot of diagrams on the whiteboard depending on what we're discussing. This week he was telling me about a new lipgloss fragrance he's working on at work (he's a chemist for a major cosmetics company here). So we've got this diagram on the board between liquid/solid/gas and we're brainstorming all the English words for transitions. Afterwards we ended up talking about agoraphobic fish. I'm really not making that up. I asked him if he minds that we haven't been opening the book when he's the only person there, but he said that it's been really interesting getting to talk to me and learn new words about his job and hobbies. I hope that's true.
I didn't eat dinner between classes and then it was too weathery to get dinner after work, so I pretty much came back here and made curry rice and ate junk food. It's still weathery. I can hear the rain and wind. Yuck.
Hey, guess what, I'm cleared for taking off a week in April to come back to America for Carnival. Now I just have to, er, get plane tickets, and figure out where the heck I'll be staying. The other catch is that I can't take off two Tuesdays in a row due to Golden Week, which means I have to fly back to Japan on Sunday the 20th. So I might do Tokyo->Seattle->Pittsburgh->Tokyo or something like that. We'll see.
