Oh, fuck YOU, Japan weather report
Sep. 30th, 2007 12:31 amIt's supposed to be dreary and cold and obnoxious and rainy for the next two days and then become hot and obnoxious again.
Guess what my plans are for the next two days?
Going to baseball games in two outdoor stadiums, that's what.
FUCK
Oh, and of course I don't really have any long sleeve shirts or warm clothes yet, aside from a few longsleeve button-down shirts I wear to work. My only jacket is my warm weather jacket, and my only rain clothes is my umbrella. I'm hoping I can pick up a poncho near the stadium or something tomorrow. Ugh. Alternately my goal can be to sit way the fuck up in the stands where there is actually some roof covering... either way, I had a vision for this game months ago: I was going to go to an afternoon game in Chiba, get a decent seat, take pictures of the Fighters with my nice camera, they were going to clinch the pennant that day, I would cheer and keep score and be generally happy.
They clinched yesterday and I have a jiyuuseki seat and it's going to rain like hell. ARGH. So I'll probably not bother with the camera, and I don't even know if I will be able to keep score, or whether there'll even be a game at this rate.
Monday I am supposed to go to Yokohama and hang out with Westbay, but the same thing... rain... ugh.
Today I had work. It was a really long day. Having 7 classes scheduled on Saturday just plain sucks; it's just emotionally exhausting if nothing else. I can only pretend to be chipper and happy for so long, really; I don't think I realized how lucky I was to have my early-leaving-on-Saturday schedule for the first 6 weeks until I stopped having it. I'm definitely going to talk to my 7pm student about moving her class earlier a few times like she offered; it'll be nice to leave at 7ish instead of 8ish.
The other issue is that I grab food at 10:40am, and have a snack around 4:30pm, and then by 8pm I'm just starving. I went to the cheapo kaitensushi place and ate 9 plates of sushi, and then went to Max Valu and picked up some daifuku and mango purin and things like that.
I'm probably overstressing out about the whole rain thing. I just need some sort of raincoat... problem is I simply won't have time to get one tomorrow on my way out, most likely. Ugh. Chiba is too fucking far away.
