So yeah. I'm off to Pittsburgh in about 21 hours. I'll be in town from Saturday morning until the following Sunday (April 23rd). I don't really have any plans, so if I don't find people to hang out with, I'll just go to PNC Park every day and hang out with the Pirates. Of course, I could always go to PNC Park with people... hmm.
No, seriously, though, I still have a lot of people's Pittsburgh phone numbers in my cell and I'll try to call some of you. I'm not renting a car so that may complicate things a little, I'll be staying at Carl's, he's in Amberson, so relatively near campus and the buses and all. In reality if I don't find people to hang out with it just means I get to bug Carl more. Whee! I would like to get to Del's, and ToI, and maybe the Church Brew Works, and I know Mad Mex will happen during Carnival, and I can't think of any other eating places I really really really miss a lot. Maybe Tessaro's. And I need to eat bagels. And visit mj2q (why is it that thinking of food makes me think I need to hang out with Mark?) And play board games (this is a hint to Django and Mlahut) and watch stuff and maybe go chicken swing dancing (hello mr. bhudson and miss kfc!) and play Set with Charlie and whatever. I expect to lurk around campus a little bit but not a ton, until Carnival starts, at which point I expect to lurk around it a lot. We'll see though. But anyway, if anyone in Pittsburgh wants to hang out with me in the next week, my cell number is, as always, available in my info post. just to warn in advance, I haven't set foot on a DDR machine in the last year except for on November 20th, so don't ask me to, because I won't ;)
Anyway, as for today I did work at work and work at home. We got new monitors and keyboards and mice at work for our laptops -- they're really cool! Infact, my flat-screen monitor at work is identical to the one I have at home, pretty much, it's crazy. After work I got sushi for dinner at blue C (i tried their fish katsu. it wasn't too bad. not worth it though), and I did laundry, and I put together some doramas for Carl (yes -- I found you all of Gokusen 2, but I did not get to Kinokuniya, maybe tomorrow at lunchtime I'll wander there), and I finally got my work laptop's VPN working so I can bring it on my trip, and that's really about it. I've only semi-packed, that is, I put some clothes in a stack, but I'm still waffling on whether to try to bring 9 days' worth of clothes for real or just do what I usually do and bring like, a spare pair of jeans and 9 t-shirts. It looks like the weather is really going to be good in Pittsburgh, or at least warm.
Oh, and I mailed my taxes this morning. Fear me.
Usually I have weird emotions before trips but this one I feel pretty mellow about. It's very weird. I have so many people I want to see and such that I figure there's no point in worrying about seeing them all, because if I do, my head will explode and I won't see anyone at all.
