dr4b: (nippon ham fighters)
Heh, after work today Oren and I hung out for a few hours. We ate at the U-District Chipotle, then headed to his house to watch the Mariners game on TV. Gave up after an hour of the game (with the M's ahead 5-2 or so) and watched the second episode of Gokusen season 2. I'm already okay with this second generation of 3-D students, although I have to admit that since I watched the entirety of Nobuta wo Produce between watching episodes 1 and 2 of this season of Gokusen, it's REALLY WEIRD to see Kamenashi Kazuya as the Sawada-esque stoic Odagiri Ryu, rather than the popular smiley Kiritani Shuuji. Also, the chemistry between Shuuji and Akira was a lot better than Ryu and Hayato. But I think there's fun stuff coming up in this series. Teppei Koike seems to have inherited all of Oguri Shun's hair clips from the first season, at least.

Watched the rest of the Mariners game, and then we played 実況パワフルプロ野球, aka Pawapuro Yakyuu or whatever. I think the last time I played this game was goofing around in videogame shops in Tokyo two years ago. Fortunately, the version Oren got is Pawapuro 10, which is all the 2003 data anyway! So we played Chunichi vs. Nippon Ham, and Hanshin vs. Lotte. Oren won both games, but it was really funny seeing the way they had the various players and stuff set up. Nothing like a bobblehead limbless Jeff Williams throwing sidearm fastballs until he falls over, I tell you. "What? Masato Watanabe is a TERRIBLE shortstop, what do you MEAN Kosaka's having a bad day and Nishioka hadn't been drafted yet?"
