dr4b: (mariners)
Three momentous things occurred today.

1. I got my Mariners season tickets in the mail
2. I installed Photoshop on my new computer
3. I found the drivers for my scanner

Which resulted in the following:

Ticket Rainbow
Mariners Season Tickets are love.

Heh heh. I just couldn't resist. Dunno why.

Anyway, I guess it was a good day. I went to dinner with Eli tonight because I hadn't seen him in like, two months. We went to an Indian place in Ballard which had really good food but really bland chai, and just caught up on stuff. I guess no matter what happens, I still sort of feel like I can talk to Eli about just about anything, which is good. And he reminded me that I need to nag Josh about softball. So I will go do that once I finish this entry.

After I came home I did the above silliness with my season tickets, and I watched the first episode of ランチの女王 (aka "Lunch Queen"), which looks like it'll be an incredibly silly dorama about a bunch of guys running a lunch restaurant and a girl whose favorite thing in the world is going to restaurants for lunch. Not a compelling plot, but the cast is full of a ton of actors that I like, and so far it's very funny. It'll probably go in the queue for after H2.

I also watched the Mariners Limited Edition (aka the "Thank god you renewed your season ticket plan!") DVD, which I wrote about over on Marinerds.

Now, I should go to sleep soon, although I'm feeling pretty silly and energetic about my season ticket rainbow gag, heh.

Raaar. So damn cold out. My ticket for Belle and Sebastian on the 25th showed up today, so I've been listening to them again. Unfortunately, I just found out I missed Flogging Molly playing at the Showbox last night and tonight, and that sucks. I had a blast at their show here last year.

I played volleyball tonight. I did really well, except for serving. I kept serving two good serves, then a third one into the ceiling. So the fourth or fifth time of this, when it came up to my third serve, EVERYONE started cheering and drumming on the floor and stuff like that, which was really distracting, but it made me stop thinking about serving, and I got a good serve. It was pretty funny. I've been serving underhand and not putting a lot into it, to protect my shoulder while I re-tool my overhand swing, which may be part of it.

On the other hand, re-tooling my swing is going okay. I had one really good hit with the new swing, though half the time I forgot and just let loose with my old swing.

Canada beat the USA team in the WBC today, which was hilarious. Oren IMed me when it was 8-0 Canada, and we surmised that it'd be really funny if the Canadian team picked up two more runs to invoke the mercy rule. At that moment, the Canadian pitchers were switched, and the new pitcher promptly choked up 6 runs, including a grand slam to Jason Varitek. But, Canada held on for the lead, winning 8-6, and are now 2-0 in their pool. It's almost a guarantee that they'll advance to the next round. Wouldn't it be hilarious if team USA didn't advance?

I'm halfway through episode 9 of 11 of H2... if I don't finish watching it before I go to Vegas, I'll die from suspense. It's such a good series, though.

Oh, and I called Elliott Bay Book Company and it seems we can have our baseball book club there, so that's another good thing! I really hope this book club pulls together. I also got an email from a guy with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer about finding more bloggers for their Mariners page. I'm not sure it's really something I'm interested in, but it's still flattering. Need more details, I guess.
