dr4b: (puzzle pirates McCarp)
Yeah, work today. Whatever.

Grabbed a salad quick from Whole Foods after work, then drove across the bridge into town. Finding El Corazon wasn't hard. Finding parking was kinda hard. I got there like 7:45 for a doors-at-8 show... so I ended up waiting outside a while. Jack was meeting up with me there, but got there later, I think he got there when I was already inside... so I wandered around a while and ended up chatting with people on IM on my phone as my eyes and nose got acclimated to the cigarette smoke in the place.

So, yeah. The opening act, whose name I've already forgotten but think is Scottish Ground or something, wasn't too bad, they were along the same sort of Irish-punk lines, but without the violin and accordion and whatnot. They were on for a bit, then Jack and I decided to try to cross the floor to the other side... we went up the back platform area and who the heck do I run into but Jesse Nice! And his wife! How weird is that? I honestly truly forget the last time I saw Jesse... gotta be like a good 5 years though! He said he'd seen me outside, but thought "No way, that can't be Deanna, she's supposed to be in Pittsburgh."

Well, anyway, there was a Flogging Molly concert, and it was good. I recognized most of the songs they played, but I don't really know enough lyrics to them. Most of the stuff was off their latest album, not surprisingly. Mostly I just jumped up and down and clapped a lot and yelled along to the choruses. I have to admit, the most impressive of the actual musicians, to me at least, is Bridget and her violin and tin whistle playing (especially during Rebels of the Sacred Heart). But all in all it was very good, very enthusiastic, a very high-energy concert.

I am very smoke-covered now, and somewhat beer-covered, and fairly sweat-covered. The funny thing is, they said no crowd surfing, so each time they caught someone crowd surfing they'd throw them out. The thing is, Jack and I were standing near the back exit, and it was hot, but they'd open the door to throw people out and there'd be this awesome gust of cold air, so I thought to myself, "Wow, I hope there are more idiots so they'll open the door more!"

After the concert we picked up Llyne (Jack's girlfriend) and went to the Broadway Grill to hang out for a bit, and then I came home. I shoulda gone straight to sleep but I had to check out the new update on Puzzle Pirates. They've put in missions and the shipwright puzzle but the cute thing they put in is portraits! They're expensive, but super-cute. Look, here is me:

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute.
I need to get one with me and Weaver holding spades, and one of me and Sinlaeshel with him navving and me gunning, and one of me and Carl in our badass aprons, and...
