My weekend
Aug. 23rd, 2004 02:58 amOn Friday evening I went to Seward Park with Heidi, Cory, Megan, Josh, and Eli, for a Shakespeare in the Park production of All's Well That Ends Well. (Info on the Greenstage thing here.) We brought a picnic dinner type thing with us... mostly breads and wine and cheese and things like that. (I brought snack-like stuff that never got eaten, ah well.) The play started at 8 and went until around 10:15, no breaks between acts or anything. It was pretty good aside from me wanting to smack the actress who played Helena a lot.
On Saturday, I helped my friends in Tyr's Own blockade Turtle. Well, I overslept the first three rounds, was on for rounds 4-6 (from 4-7pm), then went over to![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
kitanaor and lurker's house for a going-away party for them since they are moving to California in a week or two. We watched some movie things and talked and ordered pizza and played Apples to Apples and I met some people who I'll probly never see again but that's okay, overall it was good to get out of the apartment and good to see Devin and Katherine again before they leave town. I came home just in time for round 7 of the blockade at 11:20pm. Around 1am I was made governor of Turtle Island. Wheeeee.
The most fun of the blockade really was that I finally finally got to be on Cioj's ships during a blockade. He's so fun and awesome to carp and gun for. And I have so much admiration for Skooshy and Pyra's organization abilities -- Skooshy took care of all the jobbers and pay and everything. Crazy stuff.
Today I sat at home taking care of PP stuff. I had to finish some governorly things, and also sail in a cutter from Macaw with stuff, and move my Apoth stall from Jorvik to Turtle to save on time in the future, and sail up my cloth from Winter Solstice and my elderberries from Oyster, and get the navy ships and government buildings renamed on Turtle, and do tailor collections, and a billion people were asking me to do stuff, and ugh. Gigza and SD seem to have left our crew. This is really weird and I'm not sure what to say about it. I took a break from PP to go to Blue C at one point. It was good. They were showing Totoro on the screen.
A lot of people seem really happy I am governor of Turtle. Maybe that is a good thing after all. I've been talking to all these new people and it's very interesting. So hopefully it'll all work out.
