Sunday - saying bye to Matt :(
Jun. 14th, 2004 03:37 amToday I woke up and went over to Microsoft building 50 for board games. It was a going away party for Matt Lahut, who's moving back to the east coast in a few days :(
Drew and Matt were there, and a buncha other MS people whose names I'm not sure I caught. I ended up playing a 2-player game of Carcassone H&G while people finished up Puerto Rico. (I think H&G is not really meant for two players. Or maybe it's just that I lost horribly). After that we played a 6-player game of Citadels, which I won, but barely. I got to 8 cards first, even if they were awful cards, so I won with 24 points (other people had 23, 22, 21). Oi.
We split into two games after that -- Drew and Matt and Peter and I played Ticket to Ride, while the others played Illuminati (a weird combination of the old old printing with the Y2K cards). Ticket to Ride was really neat, although I see how it works now... I made small routes and a whole lot of contracts, but you win on building long routes and getting long contracts, basically.
After that, Matt and Drew and I played a bunch of Ricochet Robot. It was fun :) It's a shame Matt is leaving, 'cause that's one less RR player around...
Then we played a game of Carcassonne H&G with one of the other guys. I don't remember much about the game, not even who won.
Matt and Drew and I went off to Cheesequake for dinner, where we ended up hanging out for almost 3 hours. But we had good food and talked and talked, and I couldn't even finish a dessert. Blah. Came back to MS, dropped people off...
...then I came home... and played PP into the wee hours of the night. Oi. Hey, I did win the pillage chantey contest for my song, though! 75k, baby! Found Whitefire, got my prize. Whee. Ran some ships with Kui, camped some commodities, spent a long time in the tailor just chatting with people and whatnot. Actually, I pretty much just sat there talking to Chernabog for four hours, believe it or not. Anyway. Time to sleep. Oh ya, and go Mariners!
