Wow, it's *way too late*

Because like the idiot I was, I totally lost track of the time while talking to Nykkel and Farren and didn't leave until 4am.
Today there was board games at Nykkel's house, which is always fun. Farren gave me a ride there and I gave him the first copy of my Puzzle Pirates mix tape CD! (I'll make a separate post about that sometime.) So anyway, we get to Nykkel's and I see they've set up the Lord of the Rings board game, which I had expressed a distinct "I don't feel like playing this" feeling last week when I was at Nyk's, but oh well. I'm sure Phaedrus did it just to torment me. So, we played, and we won. I'm sorry, cooperative games just don't really do it for me, y'know?
Went to the Teriyaki place down the street for dinner, and then came back for a short game of Pirate's Cove. I'm going to be honest and say that I don't remember who won but I think it was Farren, with Phaedrus right behind (after Kiefer shot him down in the last round). Nykkel was in last place, one point behind me. Har.
Two games of 4-player Cosmic Encounter followed that after Phaedrus ducked out. The first one, our power selection method was to deal out four cards, you pick one, throw one away, and pass two to your right. I got, UGH, Warpish, Chosen, Fungus, and Schizoid. I immediately took Warpish for mine, and then had a "Huh. What one DON'T I want Nykkel to pick?" I eliminated Fungus and passed him Chosen and Schizoid, and of course he took Schizoid, and his other power was Parasite. How annoying. My second power ended up being Macron. Oh man, Macron Warpish is like AWESOME, unless you have the fucking Schizoid playing. The irony here is that I actually had a Cosmic Zap in my hand from the start, and got up to 4 external bases, and planned to just get a 5th and CZ Nykkel, but then he happened to use a Mobius Tubes to fill his Schizoid condition (have 3+ ext bases and over half your active tokens be outside your home system). Nothing much we could do about that, so the game ended. Arr.
We wanted to play a second game after that, so... this time we picked powers by dealing out 24 of them, having each player eliminate 2 completely, then dealing out the remaining 16 to everyone and you'd just pick two from that. I ended up as Aura Grief. Nykkel was Cavalry Filch, Kiefer was Mind Worm, and Farren was Delegator Dictator. So all in all it was just a huge game of annoyance, and it took FOREVER to finish because nobody had really empowering powers. I got up to 4 external bases but just lost cohesion at that point, and I think in the end everyone won but Kiefer. Honestly, it was a huge lame frustrating game. And because of Aura I just kept turning up everyone else's hand, but Kiefer was Mind and could see my hand anyway. And Farren's system never got attacked because of Dictator. Etc.

So anyway, Kiefer left after that. I showed a few games to Nykkel ("Princes of Florence! It's just like carping!") and we showed a few games to Farren, and then I don't quite know how it happened but after talking for 3-4 hours it was somehow 4am. Okay, so more like, after Nykkel and I talking and talking and talking and Farren mostly listening and waiting around because he was my ride home, it was 4am. It's funny, I would have never really thought of Nyk as "talkative" before, but I guess we do both babble a LOT when we're together. Hmm. Reminds me of sitting around talking to cool people at CMU, at any rate :)
And no Karaoke Revolution this time either. Dammit.
I think it would be a good idea to sleep now.
