So yeah, work. It was funny because I'm all sunburnt but nobody really asked because Jon got back from his big vacation and is MORE sunburnt. Ha! So today I said, "I gotta talk to you." "Why?" "Well, umm... is it ok if I go away the first week of September?" "Umm..." "I mean, I hope you don't say no, because I already bought plane tickets to Japan."
The upshot is that he's okay with me going AND he thought it was funny how I was all like "Jon's gonna kill me" but on the other hand, I think he wishes I'd asked first and bought plane tickets second.
Yeah, so I'm supposed to come up with a work plan for the next 3 weeks by tomorrow and then carry it out by Aug 28th. I'm worried about either setting unreasonably high goals or not giving myself enough to do, but we'll see. I know I'll have plenty of trip things to take care of too...
After work I went home, and Drew and Matt came over, and so did Ben Kane, who was in town for an extended weekend remix! Yay! We intended to go to Red Mill for dinner and then play board games, but RM was closed so we ended up at Taste of India instead, where I drank too much chai and all of us ate too much indian food. Was good though, I haven't gone for indian at all since my stomach problems started. And I survived it pretty well, maybe the meds really are working, whee.
Everyone came back here after dinner and we played Puerto Rico. I thought I was totally losing but I managed to pick up some money and get some buildings and come in second. Ben won because it was only his second game ever so Drew and Matt and I spent the whole game screwing over each other without bothering to screw over Ben, so... yeah. I did, however, achieve production of every resource by the end, with a Factory. I was like "And I get two corn, one indigo, one tobacco, one sugar, one coffee, AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE" as I took my 5 coin.
Despite getting mauled at PR, it was good to see Ben again :) It's just been so good to see so many old friends recently.
Oh yeah. Does anyone want to go with me to the Mariners game on Thursday night? I'm buying a pair of tickets off a coworker tomorrow, in theory, and I need to find someone to go with me.
