Today I woke up a little later than I wanted to. I went to Sunset to play like 2 games of DDR. There were these... I'd guess like 13-year-old guys playing when I got there, so I put a quarter up and went and played with them... I still get a kick out of reactions like "HOLY SHIT THAT GIRL IS GOOD", even though I'm always kinda like "eh... it just takes practice!" or whatever. No new AA's, but it was still fun.
I misjudged the timing though and got back a little later than I wanted to, and had to pretty much take a 2-minute shower and run off to get picked up by Josh to go to D&D. D&D was pretty good I guess, now that we're first level we're a little more effective. Also I found an animal companion for my character, a wolf. His name's Peter The Wolf. Yeah. Anyway, he's actually more effective in battle than I am! For now, at least. But I cast a well-placed Entangle spell and whatnot and it was pretty good. We quit around 9pm when Eli and Megan and Heidi got back from hiking.
Came home, watched Godspell and tried to do work but failed. On the other hand, I'd never seen the movie version of Godspell before. It reminded me of when Scotch'n'Soda did it back in the spring of 1997... I'll never forget that moment that Dana Steer (who was playing Jesus) opened his mouth to sing "God Save The People", and just the beginning of it sent shivers down my spine. His voice was so incredibly beautiful... I've always loved listening to the soundtrack since then, even though I'm best familiar with the original broadway cast recording, when I listen to it I still sometimes close my eyes and remember stuff like
jayspec462 in the "All For The Best" number, or Tara (my RA in Doherty) singing "Bless The Lord My Soul", or of course the inimitable Kim Sims singing "Turn Back, O Man"... seriously, I haven't missed a Scotch'n'Soda carnival show SINCE Godspell, oddly...
(More notes on Godspell: One of the weirdest things is that they have a scene where they do a dance number on top of the World Trade Center... which at the time was a brand new building. Scary. Also, half of the cast members are dead now :( I had no idea until I looked on IMDB... because I mean, most of them went to CMU, I was curious. It was sad to find out.)
Anyway, it's hot in here (it's hot and it's monotonous!), and Pokemon Puzzle League S-Hard mode is REALLY HARD. Also the Padres suck, grrr. And I have SO much work to do... and I have these REALLY weird hive-like bumps on my arm, I have no idea where they came from but it's kinda freaking me out. They look kinda like poison ivy marks, but where would I get those from?
