dr4b: (Capture the B34R)
So today at work ended up pretty good. I finished the doc I was writing, well, a draft, and I showed it to Jon-the-PM and he was like "this rocks" and I was like "well, it's not done, I mean look at the things saying "we need to fix this"" and he decided to send it out to a whole bunch of people anyway. And everyone was like "dude this rocks" and I was like "aiiiiiiiiieeeeeeee". BUT then everyone on the team (well, the 8 of us that were in today) came into the team room around 5:15 and we drank wine from Paul's office and chilled for a while. Sounds like a lot of people wrapped up stuff today, so there was a general feeling of "way to go, guys!" and even I could share in it for accomplishing a buncha stuff this week.

I took the shuttle down to US1, locked up my laptop, met up with Josh, and we went to the Mariners game!1!11!!11!!!!! Mariners vs. Braves, the two teams with the top records in the two leagues... duuuude. Of course, Garcia was pitching for us, but still. I was really psyched. And it was a really good game. We got 2 runs in the first inning and that's all we got for the whole game, but it was enough. (I tried calling [profile] arsenic44 after that inning but it was so loud I couldn't hear him. Oops - sorry Aaron!) We held the Braves to one run. I really wanted to see Olerud hit a home run because he's a little short on the HR count this year, but he got walked intentionally once and he got a single another time. Jeff Cirillo made an amazing play, and even McLemore was doing a pretty decent job as shortstop. And to his credit, Garcia pitched 7.2 awesome innings. They took him out and put in Hasegawa for one batter, then they took HIM out and had Rhodes finish the 8th inning... then when the Braves put one of their Francos up as a PH they took Rhodes out and had Jeff Nelson wrap up the 9th inning, which he did a great job with. I was sad though because I wore my Hasegawa shirt today and he only pitched one batter! DOH. Oh and the song trivia was a song from 1980 and they DIDN'T ask who won the world series... because of course that's one I actually know (the Phillies! our first ever!). Anyway, I had fun talking to Josh about random baseball crap, and he gave me a ride home after the game and it only involved half the hike to the car that the last one did.

Now I'm trying to decide where to go for DDR tomorrow. I could go to IZ and hang out with Laura and maybe Pale Charlie, or I could go to Narrows and hang out with Amber and maybe Keevon. Bleh. I guess it depends on how far I feel like driving when I wake up tomorrow.

Also, I'm 2/3 through Harry Potter Book 3 - and it occurs to me that I could probably happily reread this one like, once a month. I really love it, I think it's my favorite of all the ones out yet.
