onetwolittleb is in town so we got lunch at Shanghai Garden with pauldf, first stopping on a tour of Uwajimaya, for chopsticks and hello kitties and pocky and random crap and Kinokuniya. I helped Cat find an elementary Japanese vocab book (I must admit, it did feel good to be able to look through all of the shougakusei books and still read them just fine. At least I'm not a complete nihongoon yet. Lunch was good, and I came back in time for my team meeting and other meetings, yay. Ended up staying at work until almost 8, 'cause I had a buncha stuff to do after one of the meetings.
Eli picked me up and we went to Megan and Josh's house, where we ate Thai food for dinner, and played a game called Tayu or something like that. It was basically competitive Pipe Dream with 1x3 tiles. Eli and I won, but I'm not really convinced it wasn't just due to dumb luck. Other than that it was fun to hang out with Megan and Josh because they are awesome, and they had my tax forms, so now I can start doing some math! Last year's taxes are going to suck a whole lot of aspartame, as I get to deal with the WB income, the unemployment compensation, the Amazon stuff, the moving expenses, my normal savings and college loans... it's gonna be much more of a mess than previous years. Offhand I expect to come out ahead still on sheer "I was po' for half the year" numbers, but... well, we shall see. I have to wait for one more paper from my dad, so I've still got an excuse for being lazy.
I think I'm going to play IIDX or KBM for a little bit as I've been avoiding them lately. (If anything exciting happens I'm surejanthina will report.) No idea what I'm doing tomorrow (laundry, most likely), then Wednesday is IZ, and onetwolittleb and maybe katybeth are coming with me! How exciting! I get to show off my favorite place! :)
