sickness, health, bridge, bowling.
Nov. 27th, 2002 12:53 amI went to work today, even getting in reasonably "on time". But by lunchtime I was just feeling pretty awful... dizzy... etc. Decided to get food (had some sushi and Kirin iced tea from Uwajimaya) and still felt pretty crappy afterwards. Mike The Boss said "Dude, you look like crap. Go home."
So I got home at like 2:30pm and pretty much went right upstairs and to sleep. Slept for around four hours until Eli woke me up to see what I was going to do tonight. He took me over to Megan and Josh's house, where I had a little dinner with the whole big group of people, and then settled down to play bridge with Mark and Megan and Josh. We played one rubber and Mark and I totally stomped M+J, but they had some pretty unlucky cards. It was nice to play with Mark again. I also got to see the new piano Megan got. Of course, I can no longer remember how to play anything except Final Fantasy music and Clementi sonatinas. One might call this a feature.
We went bowling. I still felt kinda crappy, and had a pretty off first game, but the second game... damn. I bowled a 156, the best I've done so far in Seattle, but MARK BOWLED A 200! Sigh. Megan bowled a 130 and Josh bowled a 121. Mark and I both got printouts of the game... it's cute, I'm going to put it up on my wall the way I used to put up bridge printouts when Mark and I would get first or second place at duplicate games. :) Anyway, I started off the first frame of the third game (by which point Eli had shown up) by slipping on the lane and falling onto my knees and hands and getting a foul. Ugh. My knees are a little bruised from it. Despite this, I managed to get a 104 for the whole game. Not too bad. No DDR afterwards because my legs were hurting *and* I'm sick-ish.
We invited Mark to come see our house, and Eli convinced him to crawl into the trench with him. Heh, this is becoming our new way of judging how courageous our friends are... whether they'll crawl into our basement trench space. Heck, I still haven't crawled down there. Whee.
Drove Mark back to Katy's place, taking the long way around the lake... then I came back here... now I'm going to finish up this entry, and maybe play like one or two rounds of IIDX, and then sleep. Gotta get up early to let the plumber in tomorrow. Sigh. Dumb leaks.
