Strike Strike Revolution!
Oct. 23rd, 2002 12:37 amI was tired as heck at work today.
pauldf made fun of me. PLPL. I went to Westlake for lunch... got Indian food, chicken tikka masala and alu saag. With a drink and naan it came to $7.50. I'll have to try something else next time... that's a little more than I want to spend for mediocre indian food lunch. Anyway, hey, now I know how to get in and out of the busway from there. The first floor has all of the nerd stores... Suncoast, Unique Anime, Electronics Boutique, Hot Topic, etc. Whee.
Came back to work... did work... missed a fire drill... left work... came home... napped on the bus... napped at home... Woke up to go bowling with Megan, Josh, and Kim.
So, I'd been informed yesterday about a DDR 3rd Mix machine at Sunset Bowl in Ballard... decided to go check it out. And yay, Megan and Josh were willing to come bowling with us and drag Kim since she was going to dinner with them. So we all went. We got there at like 8:30 and there were leagues until 9:15. I did what I had to, of course - play DDR. :) Test out the machine, see which version it was, etc. It appears, sadly, to be a 3rd mix Asian, with about 80% of the sensors working well, and set on a MAD high difficulty. It's 75 cents for 5 songs and the bowling alley is open 24/7, though they say they shut down the arcade machines at 1am. Shrug. I played a set of 2nd mix songs, and a set of 3rd mix with Eli, and then a set of SSR. God, I love doing that around non-DDR players - you hit the LLLRRRLR and it yells "STEP STEP REVOLUTION!" and everyone around you goes "ooooooooooooooh", and then you FC Wonderland SSR as your first song and feel all good... and eventually fail Do It All Night as your third song, because you got like *5* misses total and the machine is set on ASS-HARD. Sucks, because I really wanted to play In the Navy and just totally forgot about it. Doh! Next time, I guess. I mean, this is cool... I could basically just drive over there in 5 minutes and play for a little while and drive home. It's not a great machine, but it's a machine with good hours and good parking really nearby.
Anyway, umm, we bowled, too. Two games... Josh is a really good bowler, and so is Kim, and even Eli kicked ass (bowled like a 144 his first game). I did really poorly my first game, but shaped up to get a 120 or so my second game, and Megan shaped up to get a whole bunch of spares and strikes her second game as well. I guess I could get back into bowling, especially now that I have another reason to go to the alley. I joked that there should be a "House of Slack" bowling team now that it's too cold for the trivia team.
Hey, it's 1am. I should go to sleep soon. Maybe then I'd be awake at work tomorrow. Then I could go in early, come home early, and go to Illusionz for DDR, and be all happy.
