agh and mlahut came by and visited me today! I took them to Taste of India for lunch. Matt had the Tandoori chicken and it didn't come out sizzling. They were telling me about a game they played at a Microsoft gaming night, called Traders of Genoa. Asked if there was a game store nearby.. well, we drove past the Half Price and the store next to it, but there was no parking AND it was full of Magic players, so instead we went up to Gary's Games, which is near where I live, on Greenwood.

Man! Gary's Games ROCKS! It's actually, if such a thing is possible, better than Phantom. (Well, it's worse in that I'm not friends with all the staff and patrons yet.) But, man, the game selection is really sweet. They have all different sorts of stuff, a separate store section for models/figurines/etc, a game board in the back, and tables... AND A WHOLE AISLE OF BRIDGE STUFF! Dude. [profile] nickjong and [profile] csg87 and Noble and such would have been so happy if this aisle had existed in a game store in Pittsburgh. They had boards, table cards, scorecards, convention cards, convention card holders, boxes to carry boards in, 12-packs of ACBL cards, TONS AND TONS AND TONS of bridge books, t-shirts that said "I have Master Points" on them, and... man, it was cool. :) All of us, being hardcore bridge players, were all just oohing and aahing over it all. Then we looked at RPG books for a while, and hated how expensive they've gotten, and looked at board games, and eventually we all decided not to buy anything and came back to my house and played Seafarers of Catan. Drew won, even though Matt and I totally edged him out of exploring pretty early on.

We looked at pictures, mostly of Otakon and of Seattle stuff, and then they went back to their side of the lake. It was good, for a short gaming fix.

Eli and I ended up going to Chinook's for dinner. It's a fishy restaurant in Ballard. We had fish. It was good fish. The Angels beat the Twins again tonight. Doh!

Been "unpacking stuff" tonight... err... assembling Legos and chatting on Trillian, which I installed today because I'm a glutton for punishment. So in theory, you can now also contact me at my old ICQ number, if anyone in the world still uses ICQ. I also listened to the new DCT album tonight. I don't like it as much as their older ones, really, but maybe it will grow on me.

Several discrete events, none of which were really productive.

First there was sleeping late and goofing off on the computer.

Then there was shopping at Central Market. Foooooooooooooooooood.

Dropped Eli off in Cap Hill; went to K-Mart back up on 99. I need some long-sleeved shirts because hey, all I wear is t-shirts, and it gets COLD in Seattle. Attempted to find long-sleeved shirts that didn't completely suck ass in the women's clothing section. Failed. Within 2 minutes of stepping over to the men's clothing section, found a ton. Bought like 6 shirts. Yay! Men's clothes are so much less retarded than women's.

Drove home. Finished updating my DDR Cosplay page for the first time in like three months. Man, over 200 pictures on there now! I really have to reorganize it because I'm sure it's a pain in the ass to look through... especially with a lot of those one-shot Devil Zukins. Bleh. It seems like a lot of work, although I think some Perl could do a lot of what I want to in terms of redesign.

Goofed off. I'm "unpacking" my legos still. Today I am rebuilding Metro Park (yesterday I rebuilt the Victory Lap Raceway, which was MUCH easier). Keep in mind, I don't have any of the instructions for these, so I've been rebuilding them from memory and from those box pictures. These are my only large surviving Lego sets from my childhood, and I try dearly to take good care of them, but every time they get transported, I realize I've lost more and more pieces from them. (And add to that when my grandmother let my cousins play with them when they were between 3-6 yrs old, and LOTS of stuff got lost). I've replaced a few from generics, but you can't replace everything. I also have a bunch of lego cars and stuff. Sigh. I should write to Lego and find out how replaceable some of these parts are... and buy some of the other sets I always wanted as a kid off of Ebay... and... uh... NO. Bad Deanna.

Took a break from goofing off to go to Sabai Sabai with [personal profile] jeliza, [personal profile] rubylou, and [profile] seanmcguire, who I don't think I'd seen since when Sheena was in town. Weird. Should see them more often... I think maybe Eli and I should try to start a sunday dinner thing like Ralph's. Have I mentioned that before? I forget. Doesn't matter. Anyway...

I used to be friends with like five people whose birthday was October 13.

I don't think I'm in touch with any of them anymore (although I guess in theory if it was a weekday, I'd wish Chris Lee (dodger) a birthday.)

On the other hand, if my memory serves correctly, October 14 is Jason's birthday. Happy birthday [personal profile] jcreed! I would make up a wish involving functors, except they sound stupid no matter how I try to word them.
