Paul (the one I work with, [personal profile] pauldf) has a Livejournal now (I blame [personal profile] katybeth). I guess I'll have to continue talking about him in front of his back. :P So speaking of Paul, today at work was just a brainsuck for me. First I went to a class in the morning that he taught. I fell asleep for portions of it, although I was awake for more of it than I bet he thinks I was. Absorbed some but not all information. We got lunch together at Specialty's, and then I tried to read/answer work email for an hour before the next class I was going to, which was on Perforce and related stuff. It wasn't as bad because we sat at computers and got to try stuff out. Came back and realized my head was going to explode from too much new information. Grabbed some food around 5:30, but it didn't make me feel any better; if anything it made me feel worse. Left a bit after that, and napped on the bus home, got home feeling lousy.

But, I wanted to go to IZ tonight pretty badly. So I pseudo-napped for about fifteen minutes, and then got up and changed clothes and got in the car... and as soon as I got in the car, I felt much much better. And I felt better for the entire time I was at IZ and the rest of the evening. I don't understand why, but I'm not going to dispute it...

Had a GREAT time at IZ. Hung out with Joe and Ryan again, and talked GURPS; I said I'd try to create a character and come to a gaming session with them sometime. (Shame they all live in like Kent.) At Nykkel's suggestion I tried KeyboardMania a couple times, and it was bad but not THAT bad. It was easiest when I was playing alongside with someone else. The Sabre Dance is fun. :) I also played some DrumMania and got an extra stage! (I got it on a set of Sakura no Toki, Motto, and My Sweet Darlin', if anyone cares.) Played some Guitar Freaks for once as well, and actually could pass songs in the 30-40 difficulty range, which shocked me. Got on MAX2 a few times, but did not get to do any Onis because of a mixup with the lines - Joe and I were going to try some, but then we got pushed back a turn in the line, so we went to play KBM while waiting for our turn, and when we got back, Clint and Charlie had JUST started their first song. After their set, the IZ people literally turned the power out to the arcade machines. Sigh. Let's see, I finally did talk to Neil, the guy who beat me at DM4, who is AMAZING at doubles. Talked to a few random other people. There wasn't much in the ways of Para. Oh, and I don't know if [profile] animegothgrrl actually showed up or not, but if she did, I failed to meet her. I also failed to go out for Krispy Krack afterwards because I have to finish packing tonight so Eli and I can go to VA/DC for the weekend. (I think Joe thinks I was just making a lame excuse to not go, but, oh well.)

I've got to finish laundry and then pack, so Eli can pick me up after work tomorrow and we can go to DC. Maybe I'll post my flight numbers for good luck in a subsequent friends-only post.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I passed another cata! I did it on my first try, too! It was "I feel", which may be easy for catas, but still. It was neat to do.
