dr4b: (hello kitty)
Last night we returned the rental car to the airport (whee! we have Eli's car now!) and we went to IKEA and then after that we went to Philly's Best down in Kent. For all of my nonexpectations, it was pretty good. Dunno how often I feel like driving 40 minutes down there, but it is good if we're in the neighborhood (read: IKEA).

Today we went to Bumbershoot with Drew. It started with him coming over to M+J's house, where Megan was twistying my hair and I was playing FFX. (I beat Seymour at Gagazet. Go me.) After I had several twisties, we caught a 16 bus downtown and then waited in line to get our tickets and then waited in line for wristbands for the Lou Reed concert and then we did stuff!

I forget exactly what all we did. We got some lunch, and saw a short film that was pretty retarded, and we saw the Seattle Guitar Circle, which was very Eli-like and not very me-like after a few songs. I wandered around taking pictures of stuff. We wandered more, and saw Ani DiFranco, except it was in this huge stadium and the acoustics kinda suck and none of us really listen to Ani anyway, so we left after half an hour or so. We saw Circus Ballyhoo, which was pretty funny, and we split so Eli could see breakdancing and Drew and I could try to see Muckaferguson except their show was too overly crowded to get into. So we watched this stuff that was supposed to be "Texas country goth" except it sucked. Then we saw a guy who had made something he called a "Stamenphone" and played it with a violin bow and it was cool but weird. Drew was pretty fascinated with it though. After, we got dinner. Eli and I got Mexican food and Drew got Russian food. I had to have Strawberry shortcake for dessert, too. Mmmm. Then we waited in line for, and saw, Lou Reed. It was sort of, in the long run, a disappointment. His first few songs had a lot of energy and stuff, but eventually he kind of degenerated into playing slow ballady-like things, and he did his reading of The Raven, and stuff, and eventually we gave up and left because I was falling asleep. Now, I know some people reading this (like [profile] thistleshush perhaps) will be like "you got to see Lou Reed and you fell asleep?!" well, let me tell you - he's getting old. I mean, he can still play a mean guitar and his voice still sounds like him and all, but it was just... I guess I wanted something a lot less mellow. And I don't know shit of his new albums, so... oh well. After his concert we went home on a PACKED bus. It was amusing because I kept being the one telling people where the bus went, how they needed to get home, where they could transfer, etc. I bet if any of them knew I moved to Seattle just a month ago, they would be way surprised. Heh.

Speaking of which, wow, we've been here a month now.

I forget what else I had to say, and I'm too tired to really make any details about today, so, goodnight.

Oh, I do have one thing to say. I am trying out this new icon. Not sure if I'll keep it though.

Oh, one more thing. Dreams Come True are playing in Seattle next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so psyched. I hope I can get tickets. Oh my god. So psyched. And here I tried so hard to go see a band play when we were in Japan, only to maybe see one here instead. Oh yay. Umm, if there is anyone in Seattle who wants to see DCT with me, let me know. They're like, the biggest Japanese Pop band to ever exist. They're really really really good, and I mean like better than your average random J-Pop that most of you people make fun of. Heck, they're so cool they even have their own DDR game. Whee! They were actually the first Japanese band I ever got a CD by... like, geeez, almost five years ago now. weird. "The Swinging Star", at that. Whee! DCT! Yay!
