Today I went shopping at the waterfront. I went to Target to get a bathing suit (theoretically I would like to go swimming at Rebecca's birthday party), but rather than finding any decent bathing suits, found a bag I plan to use as a DDR bag (I have been jealous of Rebecca's DDR bag for a while... it's a really good idea, and I think this one will be perfect; it should hold a water bottle, a bandanna or small towel, my wallet and keys, and could probly hold a small camera or whatever too. Yay!), and found a birthday present for Rebecca (mostly just, totally randomly I saw stuff and thought "neat!"). Oh, and I got another Hello Kitty plushie. So my bag has parity with 6 kitties on it. Man, I'm a junkie.
After hating every bathing suit at Target I went to Filene's basement where I tried on a bunch of bathing suits and also tried on some shirts in the Juniors department again. This time the shirts just utterly didn't fit me. My chest is too big. I hate how all the cute clothes I'd like just aren't made for people older than Juniors. (No, I have no intention of dressing like slutty jailbait. It's mostly these peasant-tops and all that I think are really pretty, and which would be good with my build because they are loose and all.) Anyway, at Filene's I did find a decent bathing suit. It's black and one of those ones that most people seem to think are tacky where there are pieces of netting between pieces of cloth, so it's sort of like a one-piece fake two-piece. But, I like it. Eli likes it too because you can see my belly button.
After shopping, of course I had to go to D&B and play Pump It Up. Except I think the weather screwed with me because my legs really hurt... that weird "it's raining so my leg hurts" pressure hurt. I played like three games of PIU anyway. Hey, I can pass Sad Salsa on Hard (lvl. 7) now. I just like the song because I like Baek Ji Young, so I thought I'd try it as my third song, not expecting to pass, but I did. Whee! I also played Run To You twice. I'm telling you, that song is strangely addictive. I also played/passed some nondescript K-pop lvl 5 songs, and of course Beethoven's Virus Hard, which I know is like the most overplayed PIU achievement song, but I still enjoy it.
After only three sets my stomach and legs hurt so I went home. Showered and made more plans for stuff, and
rmitz picked me up at 6:45 so we could go to Beeler to get people and go celebrate
nickjong's birthday!
So we went to Outback down at the stadium because Nick's friend Kyle works there and she was working tonight, so she could also help us harrass him for his special day. We had 9 people (
nickjong,
cdinwood,
buoren,
mygrane,
jcreed, me,
agh,
rmitz and Noble). They had no single tables for 9, but were going to split us up. We said we'd be willing to wait. Their solution was 5 minutes later to put 5 of us in a booth and 4 at a table next to the booth. 5 minutes after that, almost every other table in our section emptied out, which means we could have put 3 tables together, but... oh well. We sat on the side of the restaurant away from the stadium, because you have to pay a lot of money to sit on the other side. I had yummy prime rib. I ordered it medium rare and it was the reddest I have ever had steak, but it was pretty good anyway. Oh yeah, and we watched the Pirates game on TV (despite the field being like 100 feet away through a wall). They had a no-hitter through the 7th inning when we left, though it was 0-0. I just looked though and the Brewers won 2-0. Dang, if we had stayed maybe the Pirates wouldn't have lost. Heh. Oh, and so Kyle got the waitstaff people to come out and sing Happy Birthday to Nick, and we all sang too, and they gave him a free ice cream sundae for dessert. Yay!
Oh, I guess I forgot to add how much fun it was driving - Nick let me drive his car since he wanted to order alcohol, and I trailed Roman there but we wondered where the heck he was parking and just gave up and found our own garage to park in. And on the way back I was doing all this nutso driving. It was amusing. Nick wasn't really drunk though. I think I will have to take him barhopping on Carson Street sometime, or something. Yeah. Maybe we can get
buoren after work sometime and he can recommend some good places. :)
After dinner we hung out at the Beeler house and played some Twitch and then some bridge. Yay bridge! Nick psyched on me and he came out of it really well, but I always react badly to that because I feel like everyone is pulling some sort of joke on me and anything I do will be wrong. Whee. Quote of the evening though... "Where are you going to lead a heart from? Your ass?"
