dr4b: (baritone)
So we had our first Kiltie rehearsal of the semester today, except Mr. Gerlach is in California for his nephew's wedding (and is paranoid about planes so they took a three-day train ride both ways to get to it), so Brett conducted. Eric was the only percussion person to show up, and I brought Tal's trombone because my euphonium is screwed up. Of course, it turned out we do have an extra baritone, but it really sucks. (It's so old it has "Carnegie Tech" engraved in the bell.) So I played it anyway. Ed disrupted rehearsal a lot, but what else is new. Also the BAQ was "what is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?" and since Sally wasn't there, I signed it for her in her absence and wrote "Your mom" as the answer.

Noble showed up to Kiltie with some friend of his from highschool, and many people were going to the O and to play board games, but I didn't because...

...after Kiltie I met up with Bayani and Duggan, and we dragged Carl along and went to Dave and Buster's for an evening of Pump It Up (which for those not in the know, is a Korean DDR clone that isn't quite as much fun, it has five arrows (four corners and the center) rather than the four directions, and the music selection is mostly bizarre K-Pop. But, hey, the PIU machine is 5-10 minutes away and the DDR 4th Mix machine in Beaver is 45 minutes away, so...

Anyway, there was quite a folllowing at the machine. There were these two guys on it when we got there. It turned out they were two guys at a software company somewhere near here (I didn't catch which one. The one guy's wife was like "the one with the beard is my husband, and the other one is his boss. they're pretty competitive. We come here a lot...") and they were cool and even cheered us on and stuff when we were on the machine. Eric Pronko and his wife Shell also showed up (for those who remember Eric, yes he is now married, seems happily so and they seem a good pair). They also knew the first two guys it seemed, and they played a few sets of PIU as well. Then there was this guy from Duquesne who was an amazing player. I chatted with him for a bit because it turns out he plays DDR too (duh) and even recently got PPP... that was pretty cool too.

In the midst of it all I got to get dinner with Carl, after failing to get waited on in the games area of D&B we went to the restaurant area and immediately were waited on and everything, which was cool, and we got salads and mudslides and talked about things besides work, which was good.

Eventually we wore everyone down (and I played some pinball and Daytona and all) and we went home. Whee.

also, here's some kitty/puppy pictures )
Hmm, ok, so I'll post a few more. I still have to go back and find my pictures of Nicki and stuff, and I think I need to try to take more pictures of Ralph and Lori's kittens in color sometime... but, here are some more cute animal pictures. (It'll eventually just be some page off of my pictures page)
