Sunday in the shops with Dee
Today I slept in quite late. Woke up, had a ham sandwich with Eli, and then went clothes shopping. I hate clothes shopping. Nothing ever fits. And I hate clothes. If it were up to me I'd just wear t-shirts and jeans all the time. But, see, I have few pairs of jeans left that both fit and aren't tearing in embarrassing places. Hence... clothes shopping.
Went to Chubby & Tubby first just to see the place. It's cute and little and they have shoes but they had bored shoe salespeople and so I didn't bother looking around much. I want to buy DDR sneakers sometime but don't want to deal with shoe salespeople. I suck.
After that I went to K-mart. Found my jeans! The kind I've been buying for a few years and don't need to try on to know they fit! Yay! Tried on some "athletic" pants, you know, like my current DDR pants with stripes down the side, but that aren't falling apart. All the ones at K-mart sucked. I bought some other random stuff there, like more sports bras, and shampoo and toothpaste and such too.
Went to Target. Tried on more pants there. Found some cool ones! They need to be hemmed slightly but, I bought three pairs, so now that I play DDR at an arcade more than once every two weeks like I did in Pittsburgh, I'll have more than one pair of pants to wear per week. I also went looking for a bag to replace my black little backpack since the nyquil exploded in it at LG2. They didn't have that same bag, but I got a slightly larger one... it's supposed to be a camera bag but it looks like a nice size for a handbag/DDR bag, maybe it will fit a little bit more stuff. I also got another duck, a soapdish, and looked around for various other stuff.
Overall it was a successful shopping trip, really... it's nice when I can spend like 2 hours on shopping and get clothes and not hate myself or hate the clothing industry for being retarded.
Came home, ate chili, played a TON of IIDX... am slowly eliminating all of those non-yellow songs on 5th Style Light 7, passed a few new 4's and 5's. I think Shining Polaris is almost doable for me on Hi-Speed 2, which I also started experimenting with. Played a little Frequency... then came upstairs to goof off online and hem my pants so I can play DDR at Narrows tomorrow. I'm pretty psyched for that. I hope nothing gets fucked up this time.

6th style rocks, though I've mostly been playing through 5th just because I want to finish all of Light-7 there first.
BTW, incase it isn't obvious, the reason I added you as an LJ friend is because you're the only other person on here who lists Osamu Kubota as an interest, and you happen to be into a lot of the same stuff I am. I thought that was really cool. :)

Toys 'n Joys? Ouch. The price at Tronix was gonna be $66.95, S&H included. But T&J is $69 without S&H. But I'll probably get it anyway(I'm a bemani whore). Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I dunno. I've never heard of tronix before; most of my import Japanese games I've gotten either from toysnjoys, ncsx, or bought when I was in Japan. Toysnjoys sometimes has amazing prices on stuff and sometimes has horrible prices. Either way, they always beat Himeya, and generally have more available than ncsx.
And I too am a Bemani whore. IIDX is like the only Bemani game we don't have a machine anywhere near me... between my two favorite arcades here we have a whole bunch of DDR machines, Guitar Freaks, DrumMania, KeyboardMania, DanceManiax, PopnMusic, Para Para, Pump It Up (if that counts), and Beatmania CM2. (Now if only the arcades didn't involve driving upwards of 30-45 minutes...) There's a lot of IIDX players in the area, but we all play at home... so we've all got to be Bemani whores in one way or another. One guy even went so far as to buy the IIDX arcade style controller for $500. It's HUGE, but really cool.

I'm really happy to be living somewhere with an active Bemani scene. I mean, there were definitely people into DDR/PPP/SdA/GF/etc in Pittsburgh, but no arcades, so it was just like, either play alone, or convince people to come over and play. I wonder if the scene will continue on the East coast long after it dies here... then you'll get all our old arcade machines. :)
